wow, really? this site is awesome for tournaments, but pete has been a major slacker the whole time..he has been asked to improve this site so many times and never has..this site is as in depth as it is because of the players that use this site..people like myself..ive added 30 or so courses to this site as well as about 150 course pictures..i adked pete a couple years ago about fixing and installing chat..he told me he was working on it and nothing ever got done..dont get me entirely wrong i do like what pete has created here, just upset with his lack on enthusiasm for the site..it coukd be way better..Pete can u fix the rivalry section on here..it doesnt work priperlyt

I can say that I've made more than 800 code commits on DGS in 2016 (largely in the realm of tournament registration and TD tools) and am excited to make many more once I'm able to start working full-time on disc golf. That said, what issue are you seeing with the Rivalries section?

You should be able to hit the little circle next to a read message and then hit it again, which should reset the count. Or try logging out and logging in.

It would not be spam, in fact I hate spam as much as anyone. And im hoping "them" was not being used in a negative way. The message was going to be intended to inform players about an event that is in the works to help children with life threatening conditions. It was going to have questions asking for opinions on how to get support the right was for the event and to inform players that they can be part of something bigger than just going to local events.Seeing children with conditions like this kills me, I organized the soar for sophia tournament that raised over $10,000 and helped saved a little girls life along side Jeremy Koling and Scott Stokely. The message was intended to spread the word about events like this and to hopefully get more disc golfer on board with if nothing else, giving their opinions. So Doug if you feel as if that would be spam and Matt if you feel as if its a negative thing to reach out to people in the community with things like this, maybe i should contact discers another way. While I absolutely appreciate and applaud what you are doing there is a specific definition for Spam on the internet : Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Unfortunately it doesn't matter what the message is, the key is the people did not choose to receive the information. I post this purely to help alleviate and potential tension between you and Discgolfscene, there is a reason why sites are so rigid on allowing messages to go out to their entire user base or even subsets of their user base for that matter.

Shouldn't it be a par 56 though? I'd imagine hole 3 and 18 both play as a par 4 at any sanctioned event. Ball golf doesn't seem to have an issue scoring the holes as they should be scored, not sure why disc golf is hell bent on calling everything a par 3, sorta makes us look inept I ... more

Unless you're argument is that 3 and 18 should be par 3's, which is a good argument, I'd say most of the top pros should be putting short hole 3 inside the circle or close to it, 18 might be a stretch but I'd imagine lefty's and good rollers are getting down there too.

Par 3 seems easiest to use, but the only number that *really* matters is the total score, which is happily independent of par.

Obviously.. But when Cass league has been going on since before I even knew what disc golf was, and has been playing it as a par 54 this entire time, it's kind of irritating when some turd decides to change the course par because it of two longer holes. IMO any short tee is a par 3, unless it's over 500ft. No short tee at Cass is over 500ft.

Nick, a lot of disc golfers couldn't count to 10 if they didn't have all the fingers on their hands. When you start throwing par 4's and 5's into the mix they have to snap out of their stoned haze and start to do double-digit addition and subtraction.

You can update hole lengths for the layouts in the 'update course info' section. But yes, that feature should be more obvious.
