Hello All -

We’re just about one week out from the 14th Mighty Gaw tournament! If you’re registered and not planning on playing, please let me know ASAP. There are a lot of people on the waitlist and we’d like to get as many players off the waitlist and in the tournament as quickly as we can to minimize movement on the day of the event.

Beginning tomorrow, per the PDGA’s Competition Manual, withdrawals from both the waitlist and the tournament registration will be subject to a $10 handling fee. If you know you can’t make it, or are deep on the waitlist, please withdraw today for a full refund.

We anticipate the park gate opening around 7:30 am on the day of the tournament, so please keep that in mind if you plan on arriving extra early. It is required that you check in at tournament central BEFORE 8:30 am. Any day-of no-shows will be removed from the event at 8:30 am with no refund and their spot will be forfeited to the next waitlister present at the time.

We will have a short player’s meeting outside of the ski lodge at 8:45 am and will be sending groups up the mountain to their starting holes for an anticipated 9:15 am tee. Tee assignments will be posted on the pdga site on Friday afternoon, May 7th. All divisions will play the Blue layout in round one. For round two, all pro divisions, along with MA1, play the Black layout; while all remaining divisions play a second round from the Blues. All pro payouts will be distributed via PayPal on Monday, May 10th. If you need to get paid out to a different account than the one you used to register, contact me after the event.

We will be utilizing the PDGA's online scorekeeping, along with a backup paper scorecard. Each group will be required to enter their scores through the web-app, so don’t leave your phone in the car. If your group chooses to not keep score through the web-app during the round, then you MUST enter the scores there after your round or your entire card will be DQ’d. If smartphone distractions are a concern, please look up how to use the Do Not Disturb feature for your specific device.

The ski lodge bathrooms will be available for all players. Please wear a mask if you need to enter the building and do not congregate inside the building or at tournament central. Per CDC guidelines, it is recommended for those who haven’t received a COVID-19 vaccination to wear a mask when near others outdoors. Please follow these guidelines (linked below) at all times during the event.

Sonny & Tony’s Pizzeria will be present to take lunch orders with a variety of options before the player’s meeting. We strongly advise against leaving the property to grab lunch, as we will have a quick turnaround after the last scorecard comes in from the first round. If you don’t plan to order from Sonny and Tony’s, pack a lunch.

Thanks to all of those who purchased a fundraiser disc! I still have 3 Champion Panthers left, if you’re interested in purchasing for $20 (get them before Corvino does.)

We have some sick trophies in the works, the players packs for the Ams are in-house, and we have $750 added to the Pro purses. The Campgaw crew has been working tirelessly on the course and we’re looking forward to hosting you all!
