Champoeg Thursday Night Random Dubs 2020   August 1, 2020 at 4:20am

Week #10. Sweet Birdie Bonanza!

Step right up and grab yourself a listen. This is the shout-out to leave the doubt out about which disc golf league has the best people turnout. I'm talking about Thursday Night Champoeg Random Dubs of course!! 63 disc golfers came out to brave the heat and grab some birdies. And what a barrage of birdie banging it was. The people put near perfect putts on the pole as the discs seemed to forget how to miss on this night of tossing. Without out a doubt the song in the air tonight was the musical clatter of chains singing the song of success as the scorecards were punished and the players kept the beat with each perfectly timed toss. Music to my soul and a pleasure to witness.

Tonight's talented tossers may have put up a fight, but at the end of this tango there was one team at the top of the ladder. With an incredible showing of plastic prowess it was the dynamic duo of Mat Owens (Matty O!) and Andrew Jewell at -17 on an 18 hole layout. 3 strokes clear of the next team. Oh yes they did. There were 2 teams next at bat for a podium finish. After the showcase throwdown it was the solo-rolo team of Conner Williams standing alone in 2nd place with -14. Rounding out the podium, also with a -14, was last years champ, Chase Estep and Ethan Gail. Thank you for the display of awesomeness!

There is a new sponsored disc golfer at our league. The lucky draw landed on the upcoming young bomber, Dallas Garber DG! Thanks to Oregon Sports and Family Chiropractic and Branden Garland another disc golfer has their entry fee waived and gets to wear the badge of honor as a weekly sponsored disc golfer. Way to go Dallas. And thank you Branden for your support. Also this evening Spencer Cook gave it his best shot at the Longest Putt of Season, alas his stab of 54' only won the night. Good going there Spencer. Only 3 weeks left people. Time to take chances.

The finale is fast approaching. Best get some points and climb the ranking. This season has seen some seriously high headcounts and brought in a lot of talent. Nothing but good times, tight lines, feeling fine, and dressing to the nines. These people know how to play and know how to make it fun. Thank you for all the newcomers out there this year making it the best season yet. Don't forget about the finale on Saturday August 29th. There are even a few surprises coming that day. So get yourself ready for a day to remember. Cash, trophies, food, raffle, prizes, and the number one disc golf league in the area. It will be nothing short of awesome. Buck 'Yeah!' it will be.
