Week 1 of Champoeg Random Dubs brought 68 heads from all over the Portland area! This stack of super stellar saucer slingers played by the 2 meter rule all night. With disc golf etiquette leading the way and the desire to play the game we all love as a strong driving force, there were strong drives and good vibes all around. At a safe distance of 6 feet apart of course.
Last years reining champ, Chase Estep, found himself at the top in week one.....again. He was lucky enough to get paired up with Conner Williams and they crashed chains and slashed dreams as they pounded the rest of the field with a score of -15!! Nice job guys. 2nd place saw Daniel Patterson (winner of 'The Best of the Rest bracket at last years Finale) and Kenny K. at -12 followed by Crist Garcia and Louis Williams in 3rd place with an -11 down. Keeping on flinging them discs my peeps!
Thank you to all for respecting the current norm of social distancing and common respect. If we can maintain this attitude we can continue this league. We have a 13 week season planned with only 8 weeks going into the final score. If you have not been there before ask someone who has. The Finale, Saturday August 29th this year, will be epic. There will be big cash payouts where the top 16 point getters will compete, as well as a 'Best of the Rest' bracket with cash prizes. There will be trophies, awards, a raffle with a ton of swag and a fan-tab-u-listic good time! Show up on Thursday nights and earn your spot!
There will be CTP's nightly starting in Week 3 and yours truly, Buck 'Yeah!' Rich, will see to it that every night is just as great as the last. Good people, good times, good throwing, good gracious you better get out here! You help to make this whole league sing. See you on Thursday.
