New Winter Sanctioned Singles league

This will be an 8 week winter league traveling between different local courses. Week 1 will be at Hudson Mills Original long tees

anyone can play for $1

if you would like to play for money we will have $5 MPO & MA2 divisions, we will also have optional $2 Ace pool and $2 CTP

ace pool will have 100% payout, and if there is money left over February 16th we will throw off for the money after the final round

Can someone explain to me why someone would want to play in a Sanctioned league?

I guess I could ask the same thing about tournaments, why have ratings at all? for top players they are pointless, but for those that are not pro, they help placing people in divisions, then you have have AM players trying to boost there rating over 935 so they can play amNats

Bragging rights smashing on all my AM friends is why I show up, plus ctps, ace pool and everyone pitches in money for payouts. I like it better than traditional dubs leagues, its on you, not on luck of draw dubs.

Personally the reason I started the league 7 years ago was I didn’t care for doubles which required me to rely on a random partner to win , 2 doubles are normally short tees so get people excited about aces, 3 in doubles once you miiss putts on 2 holes your out of the money so people stop try ... more

I find the sanctioned singles just the right mix between tournament golf (without the all day commitment) and the more casual doubles leagues. Play in general tends to be competitive and follows the rules of the game. Knowing your score affects your rating tends to make people play a little more ser ... more
