I played here for the first time today. I just want to warn everyone to be SUPER careful if you go down the hill after playing 9. You should actually just walk back down 7s fairway. I fell today and banged myself up pretty good on the blacktop at the bottom of the hill. Lesson learned.
that hill is treacherous after any kind of rain. there's plan's to put some sort of stairs in from my understanding.

Sorry to hear that Katie. I hope you are ok and didn't break any bones. Other than your fall, I hope you enjoyed playing the course. As Larry pointed out, there are plans to install stairs coming down from the hill. However I will share here that it's going to be a long and difficult process as the City of Painesville almost nixed our plans to put in the tee pads. It took way longer than it should have. I expect it to be no different getting stairs put in. Originally when we raised money to put the entire course in, we didn't account for money to put a set of stairs in. We have been contacting groups like the Boy Scouts to do a service project and work with us to get this done. As of today, there are no install dates or approval from the City. We will let everyone know if/when this changes.
my 2 cents... maybe put a sign up that warns folks that haven't played the course to refrain from climbing down hill or a "Climb Down at your Own Risk" so that folks don't go back to you or the park with liability of injury. In today's crazy world.. folks are sue crazy.
I didn't break anything but my pride. I have quite the goose egg and a body full of road rash. Now I know how the little kids feel when they fall down on their skateboards without any protection.
Sorry Katie, the steps are an issue and might be a while in comming as the city has been tough to work with in getting a design approved! We mostly walk around esp when wet. I always suggest not using that hill. Its steep and can cause problems. Sorry this happened
All reading this!! Please go around or to a spot that is safer. The hill at the hole should never be used!! I will get a sign up to state thisn soon.
The part that is confusing is the steps at the top.. it made it seem like it was okay to go down. But I don't blame anyone. Like Trevor said, mayeb a sign would help? And just let everyone know. Safety first!
I used a cart when I played there, I didn't even attempt the hill LOL
The path going down the hill was made by those that didn't want to go around. For the record, Painesville Disc Golf Club did not put that in. Like Mickey said, a sign will be put in place so that those who decide to go down, do it at their own risk.
I’m not blaming anyone. I just want to make sure that everyone is safe.
