Club announcement

Alright guys,

Athens Disc Golf Club is happy to announce our 2018 Bag tag season.

Starting Sunday we will be kicking off the 2018 bag tag season. We will be playing a singles tournament at Sandy Creek Park sign up at 9 and tee off at 9:30!

If you can’t attend the first Sunday tag match and would still like you get a tag you can get them form a Monday night dub or send me a message and we could meet up and get you a tag

Below is a overview and rules list. Let’s have a great turn out Sunday and fun tag season

Tags are $20 and a new player may sign up at any time. From the $20, five dollars will go towards the cost of the tag and the remaining will go towards the pay out at the final tournament at the end of season

The purpose of bag tags is to encourage good competition, improve the play of all members of the club, foster more friendships, and create an active club environment. Please conduct yourself within the spirit of the competition. Have fun and help support and grow the sport!

The Club will be holding a tags match on the 3rd Sunday’s every month at 9:30 am (sign up at 9am). The season will start May 20th at Sandy Creek and the final tournament will be played November 18th with location TBD. The tag matches will be held on a rotating schedule of Sandy Creek and Herman C. The official matches will be a single round stroke play and PDGA rules will apply.

Tag holders will also be able to challenge each other through the season outside of the schedule tag match. All matches should comply to the

Rules
• You must carry your tag with you and display your tag where it can be easily seen while on the course any time you are playing when other tag holders are playing. Concealing your tag is not allowed.
• Tags must be present to accept or issue a challenge.
• Tags are not in play on other courses outside of Sandy Creek and Herman C unless by mutual agreement of ALL parties. We encourage all tag matches.
• If you physically lose your bag tag (lost, stolen, dog ate it, etc.), you may buy the next available tag # for $10.

Challenging players
• Challenges must be accepted from any tag holders no matter what the number of the challenger (i.e. tag #50 can challenge tag #1 at any time). No tier protection.
• The player who receives the challenge gets to pick the course/tee/format.
• Ties are won by the player who had the lower bag tag # at the beginning of the round. However, if ALL players agree before the round starts a “play-off” of hole(s) format can be used to break ties.
• If you leave a tag round mid-round you are required to leave your tag with the organizer or remaining players in your group, and you will be issued the highest tag available at the next tag round you attend.
