COURSE NEWS: We expect that the project to reinforce the river bank along hole 15 will begin soon. This will be a massive undertaking and a few holes will eventually be unplayable due to the footprint needed for the supplies and equipment. From what I understand, the river bank will be reinforced using large tree root balls and boulders. Other projects that have used this same procedure have turned out much better than previous attempts we have seen along this section of the river bank. I am also told that the end result will look very nice. Initially, I am hoping to only close holes 15 and 16 during this project but I would not be surprised if a few more also need to be temporarily closed. Once the team has agreed upon their required work footprint, we will be able to direct flow past the holes that will be closed during this project. The project will begin soon and is slated to end before May 2018. The long term goal, once this project is finished, may mean we can bring back the long tee pad for hole 15. Please provide the most respect we can give to the teams hired to do this work understanding that the temporary closure of a few holes will ultimately mean a better future for our course.
