Hello!

My name is Ryan Miller and I am an intern for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ohio State Parks and Watercraft. You are receiving this email because in 2016 you played disc golf at an Ohio State Park and filled out a visitor survey (green or blue survey).

I am emailing you because I am in charge of coordinating the Disc Golf Demonstration Area of The Ohio State Fair. The Disc Golf Demonstration Area is a small 3-hole course within the Natural Resources Park at the State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio. The course allows for fair-goers to come learn / try out their current disc golf skills. Participants of all ages can run through the course and then kids are able to keep the Frisbee (it’s not a real disc), that they played with. The area is in need of volunteers to help run the course for the 2017 Ohio State Fair, so that is why I am reaching out. The volunteer opportunity will allow you to showcase the sport of disc golf to many who have never played it as well as to those who are potentially interested in it.

As an incentive to volunteer with Ohio State Parks and Watercraft, all volunteers will receive a free t-shirt as well as free admittance and parking to the Ohio State Fair on the day that they choose to volunteer. Shifts can either be 4 hours (10am – 2pm, or 2pm – 6pm) or all day with a break in between (10am – 6pm). The State Fair Runs from Wednesday, July 26th to Sunday, August 7th. If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know and I will mark you down. We have not started scheduling volunteers yet, but once that process begins, you will be re-contacted.

Similarly if you are not interested in volunteering, please also let me know and I will remove your name from the mailing list.

New faces are always welcome. If you know of any friends, family, etc. that are familiar with disc golf, or would enjoy volunteering for several hours, please feel free to pass this information along to them. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, unless accompanied by an adult.
