Last Sunday I threw a red mamba on the ice on hole 6, went back to get it after the round and I see someone felt they needed my disc more than me, it has my name plastered all over it and my phone number, would be really nice if that person would return it,seems I went back in less than 1 hr after I threw it....I'm not sure as to why this person felt that they where entitled to my disc either....I'm really very bummed out about it as well. Please do the right thing and return it as I have done before when I found someone else disc.
Hate to say it but it's probably gone was there Sunday myself came up on hole 6 and a guy was coming out of the pond with waiters on and a fishing net in his hand and a big duffle bag
Sounds like the swamp guy mike is back at it
Yeah I would say it's gone. I would also say your approach at trying to get it back is interesting considering they didn't call you yet and if they saw this and were on the fence you insulted them for simply picking up a disc that they thought someone lost/left which was fair to assume con ... more
Yeah I would say it's gone. I would also say your approach at trying to get it back is interesting considering they didn't call you yet and if they saw this and were on the fence you insulted them for simply picking up a disc that they thought someone lost/left which was fair to assume considering it was in the middle of the pond. I'm sorry for your lost disc and hope for it's return but next time maybe just say type and color of disc you lost and location and hope for a return.
If I insulted someone, sorry, but I'm very pissed off. It's got my name and number on the disc, I'm not gonna hold up the people playing behind me to take off shoes and whatnot to grab a disc, I was not trying to insult anyone, but to take someone else's disc when it clearly marked is BS in my book and if that person did read this and feels that way, tough.
Did I think I was gonna get it back when it has been a week and my name was clearly on it, no, but i made my point that it is garbage and I held the disc golf community to a higher standard I guess, stupid me for thinking there are good, honest people out there.....
And I know there is good honest people in the disc golf community, I have met a ton, just would be nice if that person gave me a call
I 100% understand your intent, and I would (and have been) be frustrated too. But it's part of the game sometimes you might lose a disc or two but like you said hopefully a respectful disc golfer would find it and return it. I've just found in my experience most of those honest quality peo ... more
I 100% understand your intent, and I would (and have been) be frustrated too. But it's part of the game sometimes you might lose a disc or two but like you said hopefully a respectful disc golfer would find it and return it. I've just found in my experience most of those honest quality people in the disc golf community are on this website. So that's why your entitlement rant wasn't necessary. Neither was your reasoning about not holding people up and coming back later. We've all been there, you look for as long as you can maybe let a group pass if needed but then decide to call it and maybe come back. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you but rest assured there still are tons of great people in the disc golf community that will try and help you as they can. And hopefully disc karma bites the person that didn't call you hard.
i didnt write the rant to appease anyone, I was pissed and stated my point. Again if I didn't say it correctly, tough beans, I was mad and made a post about an experience I had on this course.....
So maybe the next person that goes out there will know if they have a favorite disc and it gets lost, better take your time and find it cuz there is a troll that hangs around this course.
Dude...it looks like you created a profile like 2 days ago after losing your favorite disc and came on here and ****ed about it. And if you literally left your favorite disc on the pond where anyone could see and retrieve it you knew the risk. Sorry for ever offering you advice for how to use this forum to ask for help with a lost disc.
Dude, u r so right, that is what I did.....what's your point???? It wasn't my favorite disc, but a disc I paid money for and yeah I do expect people to do the right thing, even if I did leave it laying in the middle of a pond. sorry I didn't know I needed to ask your permission to do that, dude.
i looked thru the rules of this website, if u r the one everyone needs to get help from before they post, they should add that to that page.....just saying.....
OMG dude you are still on this? LOL If you read the rules you also won't find a section about not whining and crying over a lost disc. That's why I tried to help you out originally. Was my mistake the whole time, I shouldn't have commented. Was just trying to help a newb on the scene.
I think somebody needs his binkie and probably his ba-ba!!!
U guys are great! Thanks for all the helpful insight....
