** Camp Taloali Update **
Good news to pass on this morning as I work with Camp for our course. I just received confirmed word that for the next two Saturday's (2/25 and 3/4) the course will be open for play and cleanup. Gates should be open at 9:00 or very shortly afterward. These two days will be donations accepted to play days to help off set cost of porta potty they provide. Eventually it will be pay to play after some more discussions and details to be worked out. I plan on being up there midday this Saturday for a meeting anyway, but happy to meet earlier if anyone wants to and we are also approved to start some cleanup that needs to be done. Let me know if planning on being there either Saturday and will go from there. Lots to do still but this is the beginning of things to come. Please work with me on this project and please let's all respect this fine piece of private property we play on, we are guests. Thank you all and I'm trying to make things happen. working with the Camp Board. See you there I hope.

Isn't it crazy that for years we paid taloali money to play and they never improved or cleaned up the course. Seems kinda funny that now that still want to charge us money and have us clean it up aswell? Dang seems like a never ending cycle with that placre

I have never seen you at a single work party so stfu nobody gives two ****s about your negative bs! You font like it don't go but your opinion to yourself unless you have something constructive to contribute!

Dallas Trower   February 22, 2017 at 9:55pm

We paid money to the camp. The money we paid was suppose to go towards course upkeep. Taloali never did any course maintenance to the course with that money we paid. So why keep paying them money if they want everyone else to clean up and maintain the course? That's all I'm saying erik.

Erik "Easy E" Etherton   February 22, 2017 at 10:10pm

And that was addressed at the meeting and was agreed that from here on out the money paid in would have a percentage put back into the course in order to maintain the course. The problem is that they don't have anyone to do the work at maintaining it. 98% of the work force for tolali are volunt ... more

Who is spearheading promotion of selling camp memberships?

THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS   February 22, 2017 at 10:55pm

I feel for me the best way to access Taloali is through "Family membership" during "Members weekends".

Steve Moore   February 22, 2017 at 10:57pm

At this point of time there is no memberships. Course open days will be announced as and when they are available. It will take some time to work out all details, that is why I am working so closely with camp at this time and applying for a board position to represent disc golfers.

THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS   February 22, 2017 at 10:59pm

I know this means I won't be able to play ANYTIME I want or wile camp is in session but the $50 for annual membership to help the camp continue seems like a bargain too me. I understand cabins, disc golf course, covered area has additional cost but I'm willing to be part of a membership that has access to those features.

THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS   February 22, 2017 at 11:03pm

I think Camp Taloali "Family membership" sales could help with costs and help members know who is responsible for failure to clean up afterwards. If ONLY members have access as per a schedule, you would be risking loosing your membership by no following the rules.

To be clear about what I am interested in;

THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS   February 22, 2017 at 11:06pm

"Family membership" was once offered for $50 annually for a family of 6 people.

THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS   February 22, 2017 at 11:07pm

Like a YMCA membership but 1/10 the cost.

THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS   February 22, 2017 at 11:10pm

I want to be able to camp, fish, raft, BBQ, bonfire with my family with limited access as per Taloali schedule of members weekends. Is that possible?

Steve Moore   February 22, 2017 at 11:16pm

It will be looked into and I am open to all suggestion, ideas, and such at this point. The camp has new board members, Sylvia is gone, and Richard is retired. Thanks for your interest and comments

Dallas is right. If you want a pay to play course, no one should be expected to volunteer. If you don't want a pay to play, everyone should help where they can to take care of the course. It really is not fair of a facility to expect the best of both worlds. That being said, it is a private cou ... more

Very well said Jenn, I am trying to make this work for all, and it will take folks to make it happen. I am looking for assistance to make this happen, can make no promises about anything at this time other then that. For those that have issues, happy to hear them out as some of them are those I a ... more
