The 2016 Ashtabula Ice Bowl has come & gone, and WHAT a success! A record (for us & the Ice Bowl) 48 players took to the frozen tundra of Lake Shore Park - it was a perfect day, weather-wise... and in the process, raised $561 for the Ashtabula Community Action's "Meals for Seniors" program; and collected over 100 pounds of canned goods for Catholic Charities of Ashtabula County. I've very proud of everyone who came out to play, and would like to thank our primary sponsor for the sixth year in a row, Bathfitter, for their generous donation; Reggy Woodworth, Kevin Smith, and Patricia Jarvis for the food and their help, Trevor Murphy for his help, the Lake Shore Park Commissioners for allowing to use the conference room, Bill Scoville and his crew for taking such great care of the park year round. And thank You Warren Dillaway from coming out and providing coverage for this event - it should be in Monday's Star Beacon. And lastly, congrats to the winners in each division: Advanced: Grainger Kingsbery of Warren and Ron McCollum of Cortland, and in Recreational: Joe Michelini and Dan DeMoss, both of Painesville.
