We have a new course going up in Panama City!! Our friends at Leisure Services are allowing us to design an 18 hole course with an additional putting green that we hope will become a signature course for our area. It will play through Bay Memorial Park on Garden Club Drive between Balboa Avenue and Florida Avenue. We plan to utilize the parking lot between the new dog park and the walking track. This course has lots of opportunities for a very wooded, technical, and creative layout including a few water holes.
After the club meeting this morning, a few of us walked through the park to brainstorm some ideas. We would like to get everyone involved in the course design and in volunteering to get the course established. We still have a lot of hoops to jump through but will have our sights set on a great new course within six months.
Thanks to everyone who came out this morning for the meeting and also to the few that joined us in walking the park. In addition to the meeting, we also played a round of 18 at Joe Moody. Congrats to Jacquelin N Rusty Robertson for winning the raffle and also to Jw Adams for acing alternate pin locations for holes 5 & 9!!
Other big news discussed at the meeting...we will soon have t-shirts and bag tags with our new logo available to order. Also, reminder that we are playing at Ferry Park in Fort Walton Beach on September 20th and that is also the last day to register for the Ace Race being held on October 4th.
