Warn of a wait is fine.. But playing in front of non leaguers and discouraging them from being out there is the issue I have. Everyone has a right to there share of the park I don't like when leagues or tourneys tell others they can't play. Bad for the sport :(

Everyone has their right to enjoy the public property but what you interpret league or tournament players telling you that you should play somewhere else or cant play is just a courtesy to both league and non-league players because it mostly has to do with the flow of traffic on the courses, we do not own the course during league play but we DO pay money to play in the league and are competetively trying to win that money, we as league players also have much more respect for the courses and the etiquette that should be used when there is a full course of players in a league its only courteous to try finding another course to not slow down 30-50 people in a league just so a 7some can throw their only 2 discs in a zigzag down every fairway
Leagues are not bad for the sport. Quite the opposite. If a bowling alley is packed with a league and they tell you to go to another alley because all lanes are full, is that bad for the sport of bowling? No. It's good common sense.
maybe you should try to join the leaguers and aee how the other side is before you start passing out names. we aren't being jerks. though ill admit that I have skirted in front of a larger grouo of casuals...bc more often than not when we politely let you know about leagues we are met with the "whatever, eff that" mentality. doug has a great point as well.
I have yet to see a casual disc golfer pick up a rake and or do anything positive to the course to improve it or keep it clean. I do see a lot of league players picking up half drank bottles of Mountain Dew or Monster cans that casuals continue to opportunistically forget. This thread started off ba ...

I do see a lot of league players picking up half drank bottles of Mountain Dew or Monster cans that casuals continue to opportunistically forget. This thread started off bad, I fail to see how one would ask a question trying to get information while insulting the best thing the sport has going for it, people who actually "make the courses better by working at improving them and keeping them clean."
leagues aren't the problem, its people w your attitude, who are the problem. throwing out insults is a great way to divide your self from some of the best players in the area... imo, thats huge mistake. respect is given where respect is recieved. i hope you find your self some respect in the near future. good luck out there.
For the record I do pic up trash that's not mine I do pay to play at some coarses and make side bets w my buddy's I also have played in a league or two and enjoy the organization and of coarse all the effort that I'm not aware of that goes on. I am greatful and thankful for all that w ...

I am greatful and thankful for all that we all do for the sport. My intention for what was meant to be a humorous remark was to let some of the league players know that not all of us causal players are as annoying as y'all have described and that we should all b more kind to one and other and respect the love for the sport. I guess I just wanted to know if there was a league going on so I could respect y'all's game n not b an inconvenience but on the rare occasions I do find myself there during a league just let me play threw and don't get all bummed cause I came out to play a round of disc golf. There's plenty of room for all of us :) no hard feelings here and I apologize for my remarks in earlier comments. Thanks
Dont call us jerks lol. It's only on monday and wednesday nights at Firefighters. There is leagues at stoney creek however...
My bad... The league meanies haha cool bro thanks for the info :)
Us league "Jerks" just like to warn you that you'll be waiting on every single hole. It's a courtesy, not being dicks.
