Show me the numbers and unveil the secretes of climbing those Leaderboards…….

OK what has happened in the last few weeks – December in Michigan has broken a bunch of weather records for snow and cold but we keep on play’n. Well many of us. More and more each year and this year you really have to want it.....Crazy Weather

What is the craziest weather you've played in this winter? I'd love to collect a few pictures from around the state of Michigan extreme winter disc golf. Post & link or send my your pictures. We can also link them on our DGLA Facebook page. Keep your camera batteries warm ;-)

Ok for the month of December (1st – 28th) , two days after the 28th, Disc Golf Scene magic happens and the special weekly Leaderboards lock – only those rounds posted to that points are included. The overall leader board updates when ever a league round is posted or updated. The results - Players get extra Achievement Bling on their profile pages and the special leaderboards memorialize the achievements; the most Rounds and most Points accumulated during a week, and Month, as well as most Wins and most Leagues for the month.

It’s currently week 7 so everyone still has time to climb the leaderboard. Let’s take a look at who is playing and who is achieving.

Greatest points accumulated in a week for the month of December:

Jeff Lozowsky 89 Points week #3

How did he do it you ask?

Jeff achieved 89 points in two rounds both in cold weather and getting double points for each round; WC GLOW 2013-2014 & Lost Disc Tribe Winter Dubs 2013-2014 . That first round was a Glow round at Waterworks in which he hit the Winter Ace on Hole #2 for 25 extra points – Get your GLOW ON – Nice week Jeff

The next highest point getters in a given week were also in the same cold week:
Ben Calhoun 80pts
Jay B 80

Most rounds played in a given week = 4, achieved by two players, one who achieved the max in two weeks during December and almost a third week. I wonder if that is paying off for him…….

Craig Clingan 4 - week 3

Jay B 4 Weeks 2 & 5

Five players hit 3 leagues in a given week.
Justin Dean
Jay B
Brian Kelley
Josh Taylor
John "NACHO" Norkowski

Ok now let’s look at the December overall stats:
First is a "First" for the MiCPS and that is a single player has taken the top spot on each of the special monthly leader boards. Ok so some of the secrets are pretty obvious.

The more rounds you play the higher the probability you will learn new skills and tricks to improve your game.

The more you improve the better your finish and the points help track that for you.

Getting out even when the weather is extreme - 15 and below - doubles your points and means you probably have more rounds than many other players. You are used to playing in differing conditions - your ready for any situation....

The more leagues you visit the more you learn about how different groups run their leagues, side games, new ideas, meet more players and experience more course.

Welcome all the new players, Great to see all the regulars on the leaderboards season after season. It always great to see to see some new names in the top 10. Congrats.

Jay B - Nicely done sir - way to get out and play in December and dominate the monthly leaderboards.

Thanks again to DiscGolfScene for all the auto-magic that makes this possible and the League Coordinators who make leagues happen week after week, in every condition possible, so we can play some more...

Everyone enjoy the Winter league rounds - Stay Warm and Safe.
