Article III Meetings Section 3 states "Special meetings may be called if ten days notice is posted to the current membership. Postings to take place on course bulletin boards at each course that is under club supervision and/or via email or web sit."

This was certainly not done since Brian posted the night before the meeting that there would be one. Considering Brian is not even on the board and is certainly not the Secretary (the Secretary is the one who posts the times for meetings, check bylaws). I am going to say that the meeting held at Brian's was not even an ADGA meeting but a gathering of ADGA members if they are even current.

Every ADGA member should have a copy of the bylaws and should be looking them over now and thinking about what changes they would like to see made....

Special Meeting is needed to change the by/laws. We were just trying to get people thinking about elections and nominations for the 2014 year. Louie and I have been working with a tax specialist and were advise the ADGA needs to have an election and file our current bylaws with the State and Feder ... more

We are not nor have we ever been a Federal Non Profit

kurtis schoenberg   December 19, 2013 at 11:27pm

I have already downloaded form to renew our state non profit status and it is going in the mail tomorrow with a check to renew. A notice from the Secretary will allow everyone to know when our next meeting will take place. Thank you Brian for getting the ball rolling. Talk soon.

Brian Gutzwiller   December 19, 2013 at 11:56pm

Please hold the meeting in a physical place in Anchorage. Not all members can call in on a long distance number for 2 - 3 hours. In my experience virtual meetings are disorganized and are hard to participate in. Meeting in a physical location with the option to call in if you can not make it, is ... more

What are the current positions of who is running the ADGA just to be clear? And how did they come into the position? Because as a 2013 member of the Alaska Disc Golf Association i have a right to know. And because King James will RULE YOU!! hahaha jk. but really

kurtis schoenberg   December 20, 2013 at 2:43am

Current positions are as follows; Kurtis - President, Edan - VP and Secretary, Louie - Treasurer. The reason for this is as follows, I was originally VP at the time that Matt Forney was president and Chris Schaefer was SEcretary. Matt stepped aside as president after he had some conflicting issues ... more

When is the current board planning on holding nominations and then elections for the 2014 season?

kurtis schoenberg   December 20, 2013 at 12:33pm

In January

2/3rds majority vote required to change by laws correct? Wasn't the reason we even brought up the by laws and started this whole issue die to edans proposal of lengthening the term of the officers? Which I wholeheartedly disagree with, if a job is being done right and the officer represents the wishes of the majority a re-election should be a cake-walk

Jan. 7th I believe

Shay Stewart   December 22, 2013 at 7:44pm

I agree with josh reelections are sounding more and more important. The more I learn about all that is going on and that has taken place in the last year the more concerned I am about the current direction of the ADGA. u00a0There are a few things that concern me with regards to the fact that by far ... more

Meeting and elections not leagues****

Edan Badajos   December 23, 2013 at 1:38am

What benefits are you referring to? In the last three years the only money that has been spent by the ADGA has been used for course maintenance and construction projects at Kincaid and Peter's Creek. Are you saying that you don't think the ADGA should have used general funds for the PC project because the course is not located in Anchorage?

Edan Badajos   December 23, 2013 at 1:52am

And, as far as as contributions to the ADGA go, In the past three years I have personally donated over 1000 hours of my time and over $1000 in cash and prizes out of my own pocket. Most of this time and money went into the Peter's Creek project. The Fairbanks Birch Hill club partnered with Str ... more

I think it's obvious that is not what I was trying to say considering I spent my time volunteering out at pc as well. I'm saying that as far as I know the only league that contributes a portion of each buy in to the ADGA is anchorage leagues. I could be wrong but I think that part of the r ... more
