Article III Meetings Section 3 states "Special meetings may be called if ten days notice is posted to the current membership. Postings to take place on course bulletin boards at each course that is under club supervision and/or via email or web sit."
This was certainly not done since Brian posted the night before the meeting that there would be one. Considering Brian is not even on the board and is certainly not the Secretary (the Secretary is the one who posts the times for meetings, check bylaws). I am going to say that the meeting held at Brian's was not even an ADGA meeting but a gathering of ADGA members if they are even current.
Every ADGA member should have a copy of the bylaws and should be looking them over now and thinking about what changes they would like to see made....

Special Meeting is needed to change the by/laws. We were just trying to get people thinking about elections and nominations for the 2014 year. Louie and I have been working with a tax specialist and were advise the ADGA needs to have an election and file our current bylaws with the State and Federal Government to have our nonprofit status renewed. We had no intention of holding election at my house that night. This was a regular meeting with no action taken. I was just trying to get the ball rolling since regular monthly meeting are not being held. Please by all means find a local place for us to meet and set up the next month meeting. Thanks Brian
We are not nor have we ever been a Federal Non Profit
I have already downloaded form to renew our state non profit status and it is going in the mail tomorrow with a check to renew. A notice from the Secretary will allow everyone to know when our next meeting will take place. Thank you Brian for getting the ball rolling. Talk soon.

The meeting should be held where 90 plus % of the current members are located.
What are the current positions of who is running the ADGA just to be clear? And how did they come into the position? Because as a 2013 member of the Alaska Disc Golf Association i have a right to know. And because King James will RULE YOU!! hahaha jk. but really

Current positions are as follows; Kurtis - President, Edan - VP and Secretary, Louie - Treasurer. The reason for this is as follows, I was originally VP at the time that Matt Forney was president and Chris Schaefer was SEcretary. Matt stepped aside as president after he had some conflicting issues with his work. As the current VP at the time, i initially took over for him. Chris Schaefer moved to WAshington (can't remember why) and so Edan volunteered to fill her position as well as my own because on else wanted to. Loue and I are the only elected officials that currently serve on the board. Thanks KING JAMES! Hope this helps
When is the current board planning on holding nominations and then elections for the 2014 season?
In January
2/3rds majority vote required to change by laws correct? Wasn't the reason we even brought up the by laws and started this whole issue die to edans proposal of lengthening the term of the officers? Which I wholeheartedly disagree with, if a job is being done right and the officer represents the wishes of the majority a re-election should be a cake-walk
Jan. 7th I believe

I agree with josh reelections are sounding more and more important. The more I learn about all that is going on and that has taken place in the last year the more concerned I am about the current direction of the ADGA. u00a0There are a few things that concern me with regards to the fact that by far the most members are from anchorage and it is seeming the more I look into things that a majority of benefits are not being used or reserved for anchorage. I would like to attend the next meeting and participate in an open election bc I could be wrong but it seems that anchorage contributes by far way more money from our leagues than any other club. Do other clubs contribute money from each league to the ADGA? It seems if we are contributing the majority of money we should have more of a say in how it's used. That being said I want to make it clear that I think we should support and assist with all associations in Alaska but I think it needs to be a per capita kind of thing. I want what everyone else wants when it comes down to the big picture, to promote the growth of DG in AK but obviously we need some revamping of the current bylaws and elected positions. u00a0Please let me know when and where the next meeting and leagues will be held. Thanks.u00a0
Meeting and elections not leagues****
What benefits are you referring to? In the last three years the only money that has been spent by the ADGA has been used for course maintenance and construction projects at Kincaid and Peter's Creek. Are you saying that you don't think the ADGA should have used general funds for the PC project because the course is not located in Anchorage?
And, as far as as contributions to the ADGA go, In the past three years I have personally donated over 1000 hours of my time and over $1000 in cash and prizes out of my own pocket. The Fairbanks Birch Hill club partnered with Strong Side DG has also made considerable contributions to support ADGA tournaments in the past couple of years.

I think it's obvious that is not what I was trying to say considering I spent my time volunteering out at pc as well. I'm saying that as far as I know the only league that contributes a portion of each buy in to the ADGA is anchorage leagues. I could be wrong but I think that part of the reason we were unable to have a king of the bowl this year was because of funding issues. The percent of money that anchorage brings in verse the percent spent on anchorage tourneys seems like it might be off. I u00a0can't be sure and would like the details of what money is being used where and for what purposes hence my request to know when and where the next meeting and elections will be held. As far as you spending your own time and money, I appreciate that. I'm certainly not trying to ruffle feathers or get into all the hoopla about bylaws and the such but after reading everything on the news feed since last week it's got me thinking that I spend a fair amount of money as a member through membership fees, leagues and tourneys and it would be somewhat ignorant of me to not want to be more knowledgeable about where that money is going. So again, please let me know when and where the next meeting is. Thanks.u00a0
I will be announcing the official time and date of the next ADGA meeting as well as providing an agenda for that meeting within the next couple of days. ADGA meeting are regularly held on the first tuesday of each month at 7 pm.
Sweet, thanks.
