OK everybody. I have been hearing a few complaints that the playoffs should be a singles round. Since this league started it has always been a doubles match, and before I took the league over it was more for fun...with no playoff money. When I started running the league it was decided to add something for the teams to play for, hence the playoff pot. Other than that, the format has remained the same since the league itself started at Brys park. As for the top two people on the leaderboard being teamed up...I feel that those guys have put in the work all year to get themselves there and therefore deserve to be teamed up. Working hard to be the best should have its perks.
Rules/Ace Pool/Payouts etc:
Top 8 players on the leaderboard will compete for the playoff pot. Top 2 players are a team, 3rd/4th place are a team and so on. Any ties for creating a team (i.e. a tie for 2nd/3rd... 6th/7th) will be decided by a ctp throwoff. Any tie for 8th/9th place will be decided by a "sudden death" style match. Those players will play holes 1,2,23,24 in a loop until a player wins a hole. In the event a player cannot participate in the playoffs, the next person will be contacted (9th and 10th place players be ready for a phone call. NO CALI!!! playoffs will take place the first Tuesday in November at 6:30 pm regardless of weather unless for some reason there is lightning
Payouts will be:
1st place...50% of playoff pot
2nd place...25% of playoff pot
3rd place...12.5% of playoff pot
4th place...12.5% of playoff pot
ANY TIE WILL BE DECIDED BY A CTP THROWOFF
Ace Pool:
In the event that there are no Aces during the last week of regular play, there will be a ctp throwoff for anyone that played during that week...for 50% of the total Ace Pool amount. If there is an ace however, there will be no throwoff, just the normal 50% payout. The remainder of the Ace pool money in either situation will carry over to the playoff round.
The playoff round will be 2 cards. There will still be the normal league fee, however it will be $5 towards the ACE POOL, $5 into a "super ctp" and a normal $1 ctp. Any Aces during the playoff round will be for 50% of the pot and a throwoff for the other 50% after. No aces, and there will be a throwoff for 100% of the Ace Pool amount.
