The more courses I play (now approaching 60 in 6 states) and the more courses I help design/build/maintain, the more difficult it is for me to rate courses. IMO, people should not rate all of them against each other. After all, none of them have the same geographic or political restrictions holding them back, nor are all courses blessed by the same geographic or budgetary potential fueling their up-side.

Meanwhile, I realize it's nice to have some sort of baseline or point of reference when reading a course review. Some type of cross reference sure would help determine if it's worth going "out of your way" to play a particular course...

It's a tough balance.

With that in mind, from now on I think I'm going to start all course reviews by putting them into Size categories... for example maybe: Small Park, Medium Park, Large Park. Also maybe Type categories... for example: New & Unused Park, Existing & Mixed Use Park, Old / Unused Park.

Just saying...

why do other peoples opinions bother you? I have read bad reviews on multiple courses however it does not keep me from trying them out and giving my own opinion. Peoples opinions are their own it just gives people an idea of how others think of it.

It's my opinion that other peoples opinions do not bother me... (ha) as long as they have all the facts (oh). I was just rambling on about how in some ways not all courses should be compared against each other on one big scale.
