I agree, Kevin, that time is short and we should try to schedule as many layout trials as possible.
Realistically, however, not everyone's going to be able to make every trial -- especially if we have a lot of them -- so I think the most important thing is to make sure people are posting good maps of their proposals so that others can get a sense of them even if they have to miss a trial.
Layouts without maps will probably not receive serious consideration when it comes down to making tough decisions about the final layout. If anyone reading this has a layout, but not the software/expertise to make a map, please find someone who does.
