I should probably clarify that this is an object course right now. To my knowledge there are wooden posts with 5gallon buckets that represent the eventual basket. I haven't been down to see it yet, any reports?
The wooden target poles make for an interesting round. There needs to be a clarified space to hit on the pole and not just one tape line, also a flag, cone, or something creative needs to be on top of the poles
The posts are in and sorry I know the tape line isn't the best just an easy temp while we dropped them in. There is time to develop this course but just the main thing is that we all come out to play because the state is most likely taking the island and I have been told that if the golfers are ...

The posts are in and sorry I know the tape line isn't the best just an easy temp while we dropped them in. There is time to develop this course but just the main thing is that we all come out to play because the state is most likely taking the island and I have been told that if the golfers are out there using the golf course the state will support us and finish off the course. There are no buckets on the posts, for now just the tape but there are some really good ideas we will pull together so stay involved and I will see you down there for leagues Sundays after the new year!
I suggest 5 gallon buckets that are screwed on to the post. This is the target. It is loud so you can tell if you hit it, and the sweet spot is just as large as a basket. You can also see them from far away. Joe Rob mentioned that he might be able to get the buckets for free, so check with him. Cheers
Good idea but the sound of the wooden post is definitely loud and unique. Aces would be tough to distinguish unless you have visual confirmation but otherwise when you putt the sound is unique.
also, as long as the pole is visible, you can clearly see it. When standing on hole 1's pad, I could see hole 3's basket(old hole 4 that was over the river)
pics are up, hit the post above the tape line to hole out. tape line is 2.5' above the ground. Plans are to cut off the posts 2' above tape line, engrave tape line and paint the engraved spot. Flags at each long pad will have a laminated hole layout. I don't like the buckets Idea as the posts look great as is.

Oh, so just want to clarify that you would flip the bucket over, so the opening is facing down, then screw it down to the top of the wood post.
