I sent a pretty lengthy but constructive, and informational, email to Jerry Cyr, the Park Operations Manager for Delhi, Dexter-Huron, Hudson Mills & Huron Meadows Metroparks.

In a nutshell I just explained to him that I think it could be a liability to operate and charge park and dgolf fees inviting people to play winter golf, yet almost no maintenance is done to ensure the safety of the players because of the fact that little is done to maintain the tee pads during the winter. They are left in a snowy and icy wreck for lengthy periods all winter.

If the park is technically "open" and they are charging fees to not only go in but also extra fees to play disc golf, I think the onus is on them to provide a safe place for activity, not on us to pay to play golf AND to drag a shovel with us all throughout the course.

If the course was free ala Cass Benton and it's a play at your own risk situation, than that is a different story altogether. But I don't think they should get the cake and eat it too (charge fees and do little maintenance).

Obviously resources are limited and nobody is expecting anyone to run outside as soon as it starts snowing and clearing pads.
But I clearly remember last winter at the Mills and those pads were wrecked with ice for lengths at a time.

Very Commendable

You def cant expect the tee pads to b clean and clear every time u go out, but i do agree that there are def extended periods of neglect. It really only pisses me off when the pads are **** yet the entire running path surrounding the course is clear and dry as a bone. Doesnt makes sense. We pay the same amount to use the park and have the additional pay to play fee.
