I just played the course today. This course is great!!! The amount of work being put into this course is crazy. It reminds me of a ball golf course, but disc golf style. There were park workers out on the course doing work the entire time I was at the park. I was there from about 3-8.
I played a practice round to figure out what was going on with the course and then a 2nd round were I kept score. I brought a course map and the distances Matt listed here the other day. The distances seem pretty accurate.. except # 2.. I got a shot up inside the 10 meter circle for a putt (i don't throw 522'). It seemed to be more about 375' or so, maybe it's 522' from the long tee? #16 seems to be listed long too... just a little.
I have a few concerns about 2 areas:
1st: the area between #4s basket and # 5s tee is sketchy.. both tees are really close to #4s basket, esp the long tee for #5.. it's in the putting area.. not inside the 10 meter circle.. but inside of 60ft.
The 2nd is the area 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17 occupy. The main concern is really 11,12 and 15. These holes are on top of each other. Nothing wrong w/ the hole designs.. just way too close together. It's going to be a huge back-up area at tournaments. There needs to be some kind of format for how these holes are played for flow and for safety. People need to be very aware in this area for shots coming in on them.. and people teeing need to be aware of where groups around them are. A path from 15s basket to 16s tee needs to happen through the woods.. or there will be BIG back-ups in this area, esp at tournaments.
The course itself is absolutely awesome!!! I'm calling it a par 62 from the short tees to the long baskets.
#1- 357ft - (par 3)
#2-375' (ish) - (par 3)
#3- 500ft- (par 4) I call this a par 4 because it's a 'tweener hole'. It's in between a 3 and a 4. it's not really reachable (as people won't get inside 60ft for a putt very often, not even top pros) it's not really a par 4.. but it's not a 3... so it's a tweener in my book.. an easy par 4
#4-378' - (par 3)
#5-211'- (par 3)
#6-689'- (par 4)- This is a great hole. Just leave yourself in the open for the 2nd shot and a chance for a 3. Being in the short grass here really helps.
#7-676- par 5 (the alley to the basket is so small and narrow it def adds a stroke to the par. U have to lay up into the mouth of the alley on your 2nd shot to be able to get your 3rd shot to the green. great hole)
#8-252'- (par 3) this is the only questionable hole in my eyes.. really just the basket placement. Why not have it more straight ahead off the tee?? WTH does a lefty do on this hole to get a look at a 2!??! A must deuce is not a bag thing.. this looks like it's made difficult to be difficult.. not fair, or challenging.. just hard to 2. but.. there is a hole like this on every course (IDK why.. i'd rather see a good hole than one fluky hole on every course)
#9-418'- (par 4)- there is really no way for a righty to get up into the 2nd half of the fairway for a putt. A good tee shot will be a 270 ft lay-up shot to the mouth of the woods... then an approach to the basket. There is really no way to crash the basket through the trees to even hope for a look at a putt for 2. A lefty or a righty sidearm throw might be able to get a look at a putt... maybe once out of 20 times....but the ceiling is pretty low.. so I'm saying that 2's will be very few and far between on this hole. There will B more thrown-ins for 2's than will be actually putted for a 2... so.. it's a par 4.
#10-412'- (par 3)
#11-771'- (par 5)- this hole is tough! The downhill 1st half of the fairway really makes it tough (for a righty backhand shot) to land in the middle or right side of the fairway (which is the best zone to throw your 2nd shot). The uphill 2nd half of the fairway makes the approach challenging. And the cherry on top is the elevated basket. Great par 5 hole!!!

#13-225'- (par 3)
#14-273'- (par 3)
#15- 687'- (par 4) Awesome hole! This is a tough par 4. U must throw a long drive placed so U can then throw a long 2nd shot for a chance at a birdie 3 (which is not easy because of the downhill slope). The work being done in this area is really extensive! U have to see it!
#16- 298'- (par 3)
#17- 239' - (par 3)
#18- 240' - (par 3)
I really enjoyed myself at this course! One of the best courses in the state right now! I love the par 4s and 5s. And multiple par 4s and 5s on one course is true golf. So much better than just huck and putt!!!!! I can't wait to play it from the long tees!!!!
There are just those 2 zones that I'm a little concerned about. Again, not with the holes themselves, just the way they will play: all next to each other when there are a lot of people on the course. It will work out fine as long as ppl use common sense (it seems as though common sense is no longer used very often these days)
