Wanted to give an update on the development of High Desert. After hosting our initial events, the traveling league. HDDGA has decided to run in conjunction with the PVDGC up in Pocatello, a night tournament. It will be on the evening of October 27th. Since its in the evening, we will still be able to run league that morning. PVDGC has already obtained quite a bit of sponsorship and we will bring our Halloween stuff to the course. HDDGA has purchased 100 night flight disc lights from nightflightdiscgolf.com. Its only a $200 investment, but should give us some gain in return. I hope to see you all there. We can coordinate rides if needed.
Also, we have our official logo in place thanks to Kirk at Great Basin Graphics. Our new members are Dan, Kirk (different Kirk), and Alan. Thanks for joining the club! Kirk and Alan develop real estate websites and are working on the club website hddga.org. We should have it up and functional by the end of the year.
We are going to hold our inaugural meeting on December 7th. The meeting will be at 6:30pm. The location is to be announced. Bring your families because the club is providing pizza and drinks. We will try not to bore everyone but we will be going over club funds, events, leagues, course proposals, etc.. I would expect to have an hour and a half meeting. After the meeting, we will have a free drawing to give away some plastic.
Our disc inventory will have to be fronted by club members. I expect the bulk of the purchase will be on me. I don't expect to purchase an inventory until early 2013. I think we will start with Innova and Discraft and then expand from there. If there are discs you want to be ordered, send me some suggestions in the talk section of the club.
