Thanks for choosing this as your first tournament! Yes to both questions, however you just don't want to be an impediment to the rest of your card. If you slow down your card, you slow down the whole tournament. You still have to meet the time requirements to execute each throw and if you fail to do so, you could be penalized by your card or tournament officials. Since this is your first tournament, I would review the pdga rules in advance so that you are prepared.
