I think having anyone shoot from the shorts on hole 1 is an unfair advantage. The fact that it is a rather easy 3 from there and the fact that the majority of teams get a 5 from the longs, makes that a 2 stroke difference, on average. Throw in a possible deuce from the shorts and you have a 2.5-3 stroke difference. That seems a bit unfair.
