I totally respect your view. Totally disagree that the spirit of bagtags is to play alot. the spirit of bag tags is to play competitively against a broad VARIETY of people throughout the year. This creates a brotherhood and a sisterhood within the disc golf community. It is designed to encourage people to reach out past their four friends and make some calls to others who they don't normally play with, thus maybe taking the risk to find additional people you may like to play with and thus growing your circle of acquaintances/friends etc. Check out other clubs BT rules.. many do put "bagging" restrictions in place so if a person tries to hold a good tag, they lose that tag after a set period of nt playing or only playing with the same people all the time. Case in point, there are low tags staying at leverich all the time. none of the guys that could easily take those tags want to go poach them. They want to beat guys they are closely skilled with in order to feel good about it. SO, the low tags stay where they are. That is lame. Many taggers are playing lots of rounds. Many taggers are playing no rounds. some taggers put their tags in every time they can. Many taggers "don't have their tag with them" or simply won't put in their tags at group events. We need to CONSIDER a couple of rules that will encourage people to pick up the phone or email players they don't normally play with and rules that make people play a certain number of matches per month or they lose their tag. It is BS to try and protect your tag by avoidance.
