@ justin's post, i haven't been around at all this summer but i have heard that doubles is dead. that is a shame but in my opinion, we did it to ourselves. i remember when there were only 9 holes and the weeds were taller than me (which that is not hard to do) but we went to play disc golf to play not "pay". it seems to me that every time i go to the course, i am hit up to play for a money game and if i do not play then, i am considered a "pu$$y". really? i play disc golf for a release!! not to make money. i have a job!! a crazy fun and intense job, and it is not waiting to play a money game. don't get me wrong, i enjoy playing for money, especially at doubles, and i love giving money for aces and metal. but i believe that the cost for tournaments have gone threw the roof. $80- $100 to play!! really? why? what ever happened to meet up with some friends at the course and play a round or 2 because you enjoy their company? not because you want their pay check. i think that there is a time and place to play for money and doubles is definitely one of them, but when you are constantly getting hit up to play for money, then it takes away from events like doubles and leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
