A3 would like to invite all club members to come out to Hudson Mills on Saturday September 10th to our end of the season party. This was a pre COVID tradition that simply needs reviving.

The club would like to give back to it’s membership. We are having our Champions Cup Tournament for our league champs to get immortalized on the Bastards Cup. The league champs tee off at 9:30 am. Come on out and cheer them on.

We are then going to have some pizza, beer, pop, water…..free for all club members and family. Please come out and take advantage of a great day and our appreciation.

We will then be having a random draw dubs for 5 bucks a person. Brad and Steve (TWIZBEE) are putting together some sweet CTP’s and we will play 18 on the Original course.

And the third Lost and Found Round is in the books. Congratulations to Steve Nolff for taking home the highly coveted Lost and Found Bowl. I hear it is already in a place of honor (the kitchen counter) doing a most honorable task (holding fruit). Way to go Steve!!

With the addition of the Mulligans and the 50/50 ace pool funds, we were able to raise $643 for the kids at North Star Reach. With any luck we will be able to (fingers crossed) play our next Lost and Found Round AT North Star Re ... more

I think there is a little over 30 bags with a box of leftovers that will also be available.

Hopefully you all remember the drill. This is the fundraiser for the course at North Star Reach. (please Google for more information). For $20, you get a bag and two random discs. Could be a driver and a putter, a fairway and a mid, a driver and a mid or a fairway and a putter. Anyway, something to throw toward the basket and something to put in the basket. As I mentioned above, we have extras. I have almost a full Trotter box of drivers and fairways that will be available, with a limit of ONE for $10 apiece. Sorry, no extra putters or mids. Those don't seem to get as lost as the driver variety.

This year we will also have Mulligans. Since we are playing at Mary Beth Doyle, there will be a 5 Mulligan limit. C'mon, not that long of a course. Mulligans are a buck apiece.

The regular TWIZBEE ace pool and CTPs will not be in play, but, if anyone wants to donate a disc for a certain hole, that will be totally acceptable. And, if you want to throw some money into the 2022 Lost and Found Bowl for a makeshift ace pool, we can do that as well. If no one hits an ace, we can do a throw off to 18 using one of the discs you got in your bag for half the pot.

This will all take place on August 11 at Mary Beth Doyle, the course with the smallest parking lot. Get there early, but please try to save a space for Steve and myself. Besides needing to be close with all the discs we have to haul, c'mon, we're old.

This week, Kensington Metro Park. I'm hoping for the Blue shorts. Please map out your route and plan accordingly. There is still some construction in that area. Coming up from Ann Arbor is not too bad. But be careful if coming in from the east cuz that seems to be where most of the construction is.

This is the end of the season event where all the A3 league champions gather to do battle on one of our area's outstanding courses to see who will have their name on the top of The Bastards Cup for the upcoming year. Steve and I are in charge of the event this year and I know Steve has some great ideas for what he would like to do this year. We will post those details as they develop.

Speaking of Steve, when he returns we will update the scores and rounds. Suffice it say for now, the ace pool is sitting at $81.00 right now. Congratulations to Jesse again for cashing in last week at Mary Beth Doyle.

And, I'm back.

For the past couple of years, she has spearheaded the annual rummage sale that is one of the many fundraisers they have throughout the year. But, she is currently between engagements with that august organization and, as a result, collections of sale items has been a bit lacking. I know, right?! You may be wondering how you can help. I think I have stumbled on a solution.

This Thursday, besides it being the TWIZBEE celebration of National Hot Dog Day (please see previous post) it will be (Fanfare, I just love a good fanfare) "FILL A CRUZE FOR HTHM NIGHT" at Mary Beth Doyle. My wife will be there (boy, won't she be surprised) with her Cruze to collect all your unwanted and no longer useful to you items for the sale. There are some restrictions. No furniture, books or clothing. It is a Cruze, not a Suburban. And, BTW, you old disc golf stuff is acceptable. I donated some discs to one of the sales and they were sold. So, while you are looking for your grilling outfit (see previous post) you can also start a box of stuff and bring it with you on Thursday. Or, you can take it to the museum located at 7225 Stone St, Hamburg and leave it under the overhang.

Now, what can I do to make this a true TWIZBEE event. Well, bonus points. Of course there will be bonus points. If you take stuff directly to the museum, please take a selfie with you stuff and show it to me on Thursday so we can determine your bonus points. To spice it up a bit. I just came back from the 2022 Masters Worlds Championships and, of course, received a players pack. Most of you have gotten one of these in the past with stuff you need and stuff you don't. No
difference this time. So, some of the items from that pack will also be awarded to the person bringing the most stuff. Better for me to give it away than to lay around my house for a couple of years and become fodder for another rummage sale.

So, I guess you can have a maximum of 3 discs. AND, thank you Don Bush for this one, Mulligans. It is Bandy, so you can buy a maximum of 5 Mulligans at a buck apiece. C'mon. It's for the kids.

And, when Steve gets back, he and I will meet and work on more of the details of this years TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS (as the fanfare plays in the background). Surely to be a most epic adventure.

What a terrific evening at church. God was impressed by the well quaffed TWIZBEE contingent. Dave Brown, Mike Fry and Floyd Hampp showed up dressed to the nines. Jesse Mullins offered a stylish but relaxed formality. Thanks for playing along, the regular Northridge league did not know what to make of it. I will be turning you over to the more than capable hands of Brad " 16th in the World" Chartier. Be sure to congratulate him for a great showing.

And by Sunday Best I mean your Sunday-go-to-meetin'-clothes. A suit would be nice. A sport coat is allowed and definitely dress pants, button down shirt. Ties, optional.

Point system for Sunday Best.
Suit ( which would include all of the above) Jacket and pants have to match. 7 points
Sport coat. 2 points
dress pants 2 points
button down shirt 1 point
tie ... more

As you can see, you get more points with the suit and tie (the tie must be worn with the suit) than you do by piecing something together. So, you hopefully you still have some time left to hit up Salvation Army, Good Will, Value Village or any other local thrift store to get the appropriate gear. I just had a thought. Would a fashion show be pushing this a bit too much??

Also, the Lost and Found Round is rapidly approaching. I'll have more details on that tonight.
