I think we can officially move this back to Bandemer for Thursdays.. Nobody had been out to Indy for this league for the past three weeks. I know, I've been there waiting on two of them (grumble grumble) Cool?? Let's embrace the night golf

im not going to be at leagues 2nite, scott feel free to run things if you dont mind (since you can post scores anyways) - ace pool is at $52 if someone aces - will be able to pay next week

We are disc golfers- but I hope it hasn't come to the point that mentally calculating 75% of anything is tough for anybody

By the way, is anyone playing Indy tonight? My schedule has opened up, thinking about coming out for league.

Chris: yes I know 50% is easy and that's why we do that, but I and many people have a calculator app on the cell phone so doing the math shouldn't be the barrier.

Having ace pool paying out 50% keeps the math easy.

So we would be starting from zero essentially (will hurt your turnout), and we don't have a plan if there are more than three aces hit in the season. Best to keep it simple. If we started with the 156 and did a 75% then first ace would pay 117 and there would be 39 left then we go from there.

I have 156$ of ace pool from lakeshore glow, could do 100% and put 52$ into the pot after each ace..

One change I wanted to make was to not do a 100% payout for an ace. It is nice for the acer but the league suffers as a result when there is nothing left in the kitty.. 50% seems to be the standard around here but why not do a 75% ace payout? Seems like a nice compromise between the two extremes. Nice payout and still keeps something in the pot..

Does Thu Indy end when Glow begins I assume? Pretty much has to with daylight restrictions. I can probably switch work schedule to make it Thu in the fall and run when needed, but until then might as well get it started on Wednesdays. I am thinking next Wednesday will be the first one, starting at 8pm. We can just follow same format as last year's, 5$+2$.

Talk to Chilly and Ben Cicc, those guys are still regulars for the Thursday evening crowd so they would surely appreciate this being Wednesday evening glow so there is no conflict. I'm thinking mid October for the official move. I say official because I would like to be able to commit to being there most weeks and also run a points competition. Last year we got state berths so we could do the same thing this year.. I probably can't make too many glow rounds until we switch to Thurs ... more

What does everyone say about starting Glow league back up the week after States? I can run it on Wednesday night for the 5-6 weeks before it moves to Thursday, there's no reason to wait! I have 156$ of leftover Lakeshore glow ace pool to roll into the league. If I think I can get a draw I will start it up either next Wednesday or the week after, then when it 'begins' in November, it can just switch over, already established and up and running!

@ Scott - Thanks, got busy and was going to change it later. Yes, that time sounds good - should be a summertime thing.
@Shaffer, clean your ears son, I told you what was proposed :P
@ben - if you want to run glow on wends. or whenever, that's fine - but it won't be affiliated with this league. (until we transition back anyways)

Joe, I changed the schedule to show the new times and location.

Right now it is in there for Indy Thursdays @6:00 until September 15th. I figure this is about the time we'll start getting the need for some glow..

Booooo I thougt u were just going to make glow on Thursday night I would have been down with that

Ben Calhoun    May 14, 2011 at 6:02pm

Well I can't make that, so if anyone is still interested in Glow let me know I can run it. Also Lakeshore may be open to a glow league, could be the alternative, let me know Mon or Fri votes.

ok it's official.. we're moving the wednesday glow league to indy lake/chuck d. course for the summer. Cash Doubles, Same format.. THURSDAY @ 6:00PM. Tell all your friends!!

Layout TBD. It'll be either just 18 Chuck D, Whites or 18 Chuck D. Whites + the 8 Picnic South-Side loop.
That's right.. Either 18 Chuck D/Whites or 18 Chuck D/Whites + South-Side Picnic 8-Hole Loop.

I'm betting we could swing the 26 hole loop a few times, the sun doesn't go down till 9 for awhile, at least.

Spread the word!!!
