I'll be there Monday, no matter what the format is. I'll still give my $5 to play, give the girl behind the bar my money and tip her good and then order me some dinner. 98% of us are there to have a good time with friends, talk **** and joke around for a night. For me and i assume everyone else, we hate goign to work on Mondays and what a better release from that then ending Monday in the fashion that we do.

Again....THANK YOU to John, Ken and Shawn for all the computer work a ... more

THANK YOU, STEVE!!!!! Could not have said it better myself!! The putting league is about HAVING FUN WITH OUR FRIENDS!!! Some people can't grasp that concept. NOBODY, BUT NOBODY RUNS LEAGUES AND TOURNEYS BETTER THAN JOHN. 20 some years experience is irreplaceable. John does it the only FAIR way possible...yet people still ****. WHINING BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT WINNING!!! MAKE YOUR PUTTS...AND SHUT THE F**K UP!!!! With a room full of 80% + putters (pros)...random draw works great. But that ... more

It does not have to end.
I think we are trying to have a league that levels the field for "All" involved.
Obviosly that will have different effect on a good putter than it will on the less expirienced putter.
Maybe pool play is not the best way? there may be a better way, but random draw is is not an option that moves us towards that "level field".

I do have another way but it for sure would be more work, more complicated and would surely slow the night down. If i can find a way to automate it maybe i will mention it in the future.

A/B is a compromise. Random draw isn't an option. I don't really know what there is to discuss.

For the record, since more people have shown up recently to play, and to address Jay's suggestion, maybe adding in 4 more teams to the playoffs when the numbers demand it could be considered. It would lessen the top payouts and add 1 more game to the end of the night but the playoff games only go to 11 so it might add on another 20 minutes or so. Payouts would be flatter and the bottom 4 teams would only get their money back. With $300 at 60 people, the payouts would look something like this: 10, 10, 10, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50.

Although i have never attended this league, does not meen i can not appreciate what iy is. For a few hours a week you can gather with friends enjoytl their company playing a game we all love maybe drinking a beer ot two. It is not about winning or looseing, iy is about enjoying, haveing fun. Many people work hard to put this event on with their only thanks being that peopleare able to put whatever monotonous things they have going on in their life aside and for a few hours enjoy themselves. @Jay specifically: please enlighten me when you say "nobody can come to an agreement on what would keep everyone happy". What do you know that nobody else knows on how to "keep everyone happy"? You do know when you say "everyone" you do mean everyone, right?

Clarification: When I say this will all end on Monday, I do not mean to insinuate that the putting league will end. I mean I am going to address this issue to whoever attends. If you have a nickel in the topic, even if you cannot hang for the night, please try to be there so your voice can be heard.

It isn't so difficult to understand Jay. You see things the way you want to and refuse to look at statistics and facts and refuse to acknowledge that anyone else who can reason and communicate without all the punctuation, exclamation points, and cursing can have a valid point. Ryan Herzog won 2 out of 4 weeks, Joe Gabris won 1 week, and Marty won the other. How is this system hurting the A Pool players? You putted bad for 3 or 4 weeks so it is the system that is holding you back or you drew ... more

That sucks that there is no compromise here and nobody can come to an agreement on what would keep everyone happy....why this league and no others have this problem? I know why but i just dont understand it...

I've updated the Schedule here on the Scene and removed all dates past this coming Monday.
This will all end after this coming Monday.

So, since there are so many complaints, I will talk to Sunnybrook tomorrow and ask them to halt building the nets for a bigger group of people and begin to accept that the league may be ending soon. I feel terrible that so many people feel like they are being forced into something they dislike so much... Sorry folks!

All this from simply asking if you preferred A/b or a/b/c. Very few even answered the question. I am not only sorry that I asked the question but I feel sorry for some of you because you only want what's good for you! No matter how much it would embarrass the low percentage putters.

Would you show up to the kids underage league and want to play random draw doubles?
Some of those kids are better putters than some of the "c poolers".

Random draw.pay out ONLY top third.dont pay ams in plastic booby.forget the stats.simplify and have fun.random draw will invaribly create super teams and super not so good teams.no one should be goin there to rake in cash anyway...i dont go to this league so no one has to even respond to my bs.just think about it.
