Southern Maryland Bag Tags 2013
Bag Tag league
Since expanding the rules it's clear bag tag matches are more frequent and more exciting. However it's become impossible for me to keep track of who has each tag. And that's ok. So for now, there is no need to report your tag matches. Just know that the leaderboard will no longer be updated as well.
We will still have an end-of-year payout for various categories. They will just be a little more creative.
See below for new bag-tag rules.
Match Format:
The format for each bag tag match is now determined by the Challenged player. This means that if Tag #8 is challenged by Tag #10, then Tag #8 chooses the format to be played (Match Play, Stroke Play, etc).
Multiple Player Matches:
•Three-way matches(or more) are allowable if all players are playing on the same card in the same group. Players can opt-in by putting their tags up for grabs. There is no penalty for NOT opting ...

Just want to make sure everyone knows to ask for a Handicap if you feel out-matched. Handicaps can be issued in the form of mulligans, free strokes, or an over/under score (i.e. win by 2 holes). So negotiate with your opponent for your desired handicap. You may ask for 4 mulligans, but your opponent counter offers for 2. Are you happy with 2? Try asking for 3!

I'd like to see the leaderboard kept up to date. I would be happy to volunteer to take over updating the leaderboard. I totally agree with you, Jerry, that the new rules makes to difficult to keep up, but I think if we keep pushing people to report, we could keep it semi up to date. And I can do the updating, so that's one less thing you have to worry about. Say, on Sundays we do a bagtag check just to see who's got what. With the school year coming to a close, I plan on being at doubles pretty much every Sunday until the baby is born. I might even get down for a few Thursday nights. We just need to keep encouraging people to let us know when tags change hands. I don't mind doing it.
sure that would be much appreciated
cool. I'd be more than happy to do it. I've even though about putting the leaderboard on the facebook page too.
