Who: This league welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. If you’ve never played in a disc golf league before, it is suggested that you play with someone who has. Rounds must be played in groups of 3-5. If you show up on Thursday between 5 and 5:30 pm you will be guaranteed to have a group.
What: This is a singles, casual flex-start league meaning that players are able to play a round on their own time throughout week with a group of their choosing. Rounds are played at Phillips Park DGC next to Carrick High School.
When: League rounds can be played any time Monday – Friday while the sun is up. The league starts the week of April 4th and will end the week of September 26th
Scoring: Scoring must be tracked using the Udisc app. The Phillips Park league can be found in the Udisc app’s event page. To play, select the league, check in, and then create a scorecard with your group of 3-5. Only one member of each group needs to the Udisc app downloaded to keep track of scores. Note that a Udisc Pro account is NOT needed to play in this league.
This league is not PDGA sanctioned, but all PDGA rules are in effect for league rounds. If you are unfamiliar with the rules, try to find someone to play with who can teach you as you play along.
Course Layout: Unless told otherwise, league rounds will be done from the white (concrete) tees. Participants will play the set of 9 holes 2 times through for a total of 18 holes. On or over the path at the bottom of the hill and the parking lot/road at the top of the hill is out of bounds. Discs that land out of bounds must be played from where the disc was last in bounds with a penalty stroke added to the thrower’s score.
Divisions: This league offers 3 divisions: Open, Advanced, and Intermediate. Open is for the highest level of players, Advanced is for high level amatuers, and Intermediate is for more casual players. If you are a newer player or have never played a league round before, it is recommended that you play in Intermediate.
Entry Fee/Payouts/Credit: The entry fee to play each week is $5 to be paid via venmo (@Mike-Ewan). Please include your name/who you are paying for when sending venmo payments. $1 of the entry fee goes to an Ace pot and the rest goes towards payouts.
Each week, the ace pot is split among any players that get an ace during their league round. If nobody gets an ace, the ace pot will pushed to the next week.
The rest of the entry fee will get paid out to the top 40% of the field according to the PDGA payout structure. Payouts will be calculated each week and entered into a credit spreadsheet, so participants know how much money they have earned. Entry fees can be paid via credit if the participant prefers. Payouts will be paid out at the end of the year unless participants request otherwise. If players do not pay for their round before it is played and they do not have any credit, their score will be voided.
