League members: Bring your appetite tomorrow... there's probably enough meat to feed 200 people. Bring a container for leftover meat if we have any. Bring a little $$$ if you're interested in purchasing stuff the club has in stock, and/or donating for the leftover meat and course improvements ( posts, signs, teach l trash deposit places,etc). I look forward to seeing y'all tomorrow with your player packages and $$ for all High/Low Doubles participants.

League Party Details: If you haven't been able to or can't tomorrow, I am trying to gain a rough estimate of people attending the High/Low Doubles. I will set it up as a tournament after tomorrow night (along with update the next GRDoD tournament), and put in all the qualified people (as wait list) and list those who have said they will be there as participants for the doubles round. So, I did not do very well last league day at Fallasburg. The statistics complied on Discgolscene are confusing. That is, on the Fallasburg page, the long-tee-18 used by our league shows it as 58 par. Yet they have my league scored as though the par is 54. Of course, the total of strokes is what matters most. But, I have recently been concerned that people are lagging behind the modern expectations where par 3 holes are no longer presumed. I get weird looks when I have the card and someone say ... more

I agree Fred , granted League play at any course or linked to a club is pretty casual (compared to Tourney Play & a PDGA rule book) but as new courses arive

and old ones get re-designed , I agree that every one on who is doing any kind of scoring on a card should put a number down after each hole , rather than just a slash , because I' m seeing more courses also where par for 18 holes is NOT 54 !

What changes will be made so that a league round at Brewer doesn't take more than 3+ hours to play? Playing from short tees? Shot gun start at 6pm? Anything?

I recommend letting drives after the front card gets past driving distance. No need to wait for last putt on the long holes. When family nine is done we might talk about mixing some of those into a league round

Good recommendation Fred, about the drives. Another suggestion, spotters on hole 2. It's a shorter hole, but still it was a HUGE back up the last time we played league there.

Brewer course-work update: This Friday - July 14, is the date for laying the tee pad cement. (The cement company has informed us that this is their best and earliest.) 10 am is the planned start time. Because of our dependence on the cement company timing, it is important that people who can help with the work let Jacob Stahl (DiscBaron- 616-481-9893) know that they will be there on Friday at 10am. Saturday, July 15 (10am) is now the date for basket installation.
