So this is what i think friday is going to be...we should start around 8 due to the daylight so we can keep it glow as much as we can, the league ace pool is not active for the playoff as this is a seperate event but i do propose the traditional $5 auto ace if someone hits one and the current ace pool will roll over to next season, after we all buy in the total playoff pot is at $114, unfortunately the club doesnt make money so $20 of the pot is being used for the purchase of the berths for stat ... more

boo!!!

I was referring to the fact that skins are normally played completely different because you often don't care where your putt ends up, unlike stroke play. Plenty of time for 2, but like I said , you guys decide & I'm all in. How have you done it in the past?

weve never had a playoff pot in the past, the only difference would be wether the hole is won or if it is tied we all finish the hole even if it is tied so we can still use stroke play....guess you better care where your putt ends up then LOL its not really completely different you just dont want to throw a lay up shot to be safe because you want a low score in strokes

wish I had the points. id so be in

In past seasons a few of us would do side bets for stroke scores. We would all be playing for skins, but only those who threw down an extra coupla bucks would have to hole out every hole and keep stroke score. I always thought it was a fun way to play two rounds at once, but it did change your strat ... more

So, I'm assuming that would be 2 rounds - 1 skins & 1 strokes - that sounds like a really cool "finale" to me -- or are you talking 1 round of skins keeping stroke score? -- that would kind of defeat the skins purpose somewhat, playing two different kinds of golf in one round? Although that would make the skins more challenging if you have to worry about not blowing by the basket too far -- but whatever you guys decide is ok with me - - - - I just hope I don't have to work that Friday !!

That would be one round keeping track of skins and strokes, we would never have time for 2 rounds but it doesnt really defeat anything because a person can win 10skins on one hole but that could have been their only birdie meaning they wouldnt win the stroke play if someone had 5+ birdies

Sounds good to me. I vote yes

joe, jeff, kevin and kurt.....there are 2 league rounds left and then the playoff is march 15, by the time of the playoff there will be a little over $100 in the playoff pot plus if we all pay the usual $9 for skins make it an additional $45...i would like to split up the money somehow to have a nice skins pot and a second way to spread the winnings so that no matter what everyone will walk away with something....i was thinking $45-70 for the skins pot then the remainder to be used for payouts if we keet score by strokes also....votes?

Haha. Thanks, Joe. Now if I could just convince the MDGO...

Snow isn't a factor. I don't know what weather data was being used by MiCOPS for the double points, but Weather Underground says the temp with wind chill didn't drop below 17 during the round.

Joe Levell    February 10, 2013 at 11:24pm

why was it double points again?

Ben Jackson   February 10, 2013 at 3:32pm

double points comes from weather conditions. I'm not sure on the specifics but actual temperature and windchill are factors. I believe anything under 'feels like 15F' is double points.

Can't make it on friday's anymore because of work.

So whats the playoff pot at ?

Jay B   December 22, 2012 at 11:07am

$57...if theres ever a question about how much the playoff pot is, that figure is easily calculated by simple math, counting the number of players in each round on the leaderboard page and adding them together since $1 from each player goes into the pot
