i was under the impression that a name had already been given...? ?.. my feeling on the whole thing is we start making some decisions so that things can get put into action. This fall/winter should be spent finalizing plans for new courses and raising money, to further our sport in our area. I understand everyone has a say and should, but if we cant come up with a name were not getting anywhere. Im sure everyone feels the same way, just making a point, dont want the real objective here to be for ... more

No caps please Rich, I take that as if your yelling. Rich, I agree, by end of the month would be awesome. I am not trying to delay anything here, I am merely pointing out that until we scribe this in stone (by-laws), we should remain open to other suggestions, not that any are coming in. Maybe we'll have a name that comes in that we have a unaminous agreement, but I really don't see that happening.

LOL Rich...remember some things will be more important than others. It just happens that our club name, which not only represents our goals and ideas, will be introduced to local and more than likely, regional leaders, not to mention businesses we hope will contribute as a sponsor . I am trying to keep an open mind to any and all suggestions as one of your elected officers, and would like us to contemplate other ideas until we are set in stone or on paper. If we were ready to do that, then DelmarvaDiscDawgs definitely works for me. Thanks for ringing in Rich!

I'm really having mixed thoughts on this. On one hand, I like the brainstorming and the attitude of "lets get it right". But on the other hand, twice now we've come up with & voted on the same name. Is it the ones who didn't get it their way who keep pushing this? I look at club names all over the country and Delmarva DiscDawgs is not offensive or bad. By using the Dawg instead of dog, I don't see any confusion or affiliation with disc dogs. At French Creek in P ... more

Right on Chris....never saw the hidden meaning of LSDGA's, prob should ditch that one. I do agree, disc golf does have a stigma about hippies and their ways, but that is something we can work on. One suggestion was Delmarva Disc Golf Club, would that be too close to Delaware Disc Golf, I'm thinking prob so....I am convinced we will find a name if we continue to work on this and get more voices in this mix.

Good discussion. I like the sound of "Disc Alliance". Keep em coming

Nice one Chris....kinda a mouth full though. What does Association sound like instead of club? Delmarva Disc Golf Association, Lower Shore Disc Golf Association, and so on...

We need some more ideas on the club name. It will be hard to move forward until we have that. Throw something out there....

Thanks for ringing in guys....but as a club, let's all weigh in with our voices. We can talk about it here then finalize a agree/disagree on the issues at meetings.
Let me throw this out....Lower Shore Disc Golf (lsdg.com is available, not catchy, but effective)
Let's hear some more....
Here is a website in progress, really more of a learning tool than actual plan to become The Schu website!

I gotta say, I agree with ray on this one. If we are going to be going after money from the county or state, then I think something like eastern shore disc golf would get more sponsors than the disc dawgs would. I don't feel strongly enough about the name to go against the grian if anybody is really hell bent about it, but just from a sponsor perspective, I definitely think '........ disc golf club' gets more money than '......... disc dawgs'

Thank you (Scum) for the nomination and the membership for electing me as Secretary. I will do what I can to help promote The Schu and disc golf in our region. While I am okay with the club's new name, Delmarva Disc Dawgs, it does make more sense, as others were stating, to have a club name that clearly reflects our purpose. Names such as Delmarva Disc Golf Club (DDGC), Eastern Shore Disc Golf Club (ESDGC), Lower Shore Disc Golf Club (LSDGC) or so on clearly speaks for itself. I believe, un ... more

Ray, Phil, Mumf & Trader. I had to deny the 1st match and reverified the 2nd one. The one listed wrong was because the time was listed as 7am. I'm not able to change the matches, just verify or deny them.
