HEY EVERYONE IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR MY BLOWOUT THE CHAINS B-DAY TOURNEY. THIS YEAR I'M GONNA DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERANT. I AM JOINING UP WITH CLUB KENSINGTON TO HOLD MY TOURNEY THERE ON SUNDAY. BUT NOT JUST SUNDAY THE 12TH BUT CARRIED OVER TO THE 19TH.
WE WILL BE SPLITTING UP TEAMS AS USUAL. THEN THE NEXT WEEK YOU CARRIE OVER YOUR SCORE FROM THE 12TH AND ADD IT TO YOUR SCORE ON THE 19TH. JUST THINK OF IT AS TWO ROUNDS FOR A TOURNEY BUT SEPERATED BY A WEEK.
TO ADD YOURSELF IT ...

64 Players. Way to go Grant Abderson and Mike Henry (-14) from 27 shorts. Lyle Downing takes the CTP. Thanks to Holdens Party Store for the swag. No one hits an ace so ace pool is up to $933 ($466.50) plus for next week. All shorts till ace pool gets hit. Lets make someones Xmas!!! See you next week.
Jeff Kaluk December 5, 2010 at 9:02am
As for Pro's always cashing 1st. This is FALSE. Look back at past league standings. More AM's cash than Pro's (yes there are more AM's)
Jeff Kaluk December 5, 2010 at 8:54am
Oh yea, Xmas is comming up and everyone still needs to do more shopping. What better way to shop than to have an additional $450 or more in your pocket. So.....
27 shorts till ace pool is hit.
Ace pool recort take was $440 by me. This pot will be a record. Good luck to all!!

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. Brandon, that had to be the nicest complment I have ever recieved. Thank you.
Let me give everyone a history lesson of our leagues since I started playing, helping and running it.

2009 Prior to DGS Posting: Randon Draw, average 20 to 40.
2009 Summer Leagues: Run by myself/Jeff B/Curry Pro/AM (Cards), Average 42 player average with only 8 Pro/AM ...

All in all this is an awesome league and I am grateful for Jeff and his staff's efforts and the player's participation. How ever Jeff decides to run things he'll have my support. Hats off to Jeff for running a hella successful league. If the angels in heaven were to ask the Lord if there is devoted and selfless magnanimity on earth, Jesus would point down at Jeff Kaluk and his staff.

Mark E mark's got the plan man. There's too many beginner players joining this league to have power teams dominate week after week.

While Pro/Am teams are definitely fairer, part of what you want to accomplish in a format is to continue to attract good players and even top Pros. Pros like the chance to draw a good partner and win solid prizes, which the current format allows and is part of the reason that attendance is so good. Maintaining a successful format is an important goal and justifies the huge effort put in by Jeff and Dave and others. I'm not sure how much a Pro/Am format might discourage some Pros from att ... more

my vote is for marks idea us beginners would like to see those top pros shred it up
Roger F. Brundage December 3, 2010 at 2:47am
I like the idea Mark and would appreciate it. Actually I pretty much feel the same as Brandon. Well said Brandon! Perhaps alternate weeks of pro/am-buddies.
Brandon LaVigne December 3, 2010 at 1:29am
I liked it better when it was a pro/am league in the way that "pros" would each be teamed up with an "am". First of all you don't have a chance for a super team which evens out the field a little bit. But the real reason I prefer it to be that way is that the main reason I come play leagues is for the CHANCE to play with pros and learn from people who are better than me. If you got a couple of super teams and those two teams decide to play on the same card then the ams h ... more

ya i think that would work out better,it would be faster,an i don't know for others but i don't play as well with my friends for cash..
mark ellis December 2, 2010 at 11:48pm
Just tossing out an idea...
If the drawing order of the chips determined both your partner ( #1 goes with #2) as well as your group ( team 1&2 plays with team 3&4) it would make for a more diverse social mix. The way it is done now we pick our own playing groups, so we end up playing with our friends ( which is fine, of course) but we don't meet as many of the other league players as we otherwise would. There is a small issue of possible collusion but a bigger issue of the beginn ...
