Anyone heading out early to work on pads?

I think work on pads is useless the ice under the snow is so thick and stuck to the cement because it was slop before it froze..only thing that will probably work is a ton of salt on each one

Nate Buban   March 2, 2013 at 10:35am

Salt yes, useless no.

Jay B   March 2, 2013 at 10:40am

i was implying that putting in work to shovel them would be useless lol...but salt YESS! lol

Anyone i could catch a ride with coming from or passing through the royal oak area? Would appreciate it...got 5 on it for gas too

Or maybe atleast ride in with because i dont have a pass

Nate Buban    March 2, 2013 at 2:17am

Sure, just shoveling those pads is not going to do it. It was borderline dangerous yesterday.

we can go with casual tees.

last one of the year at addy for bobis.24 holes sounds better

As it turns out I will not be making it out there today. We'll just have to wing it tomorrow, maybe just 18 holes...

Holes 1-13 were shoveled today. A bit icy underneath the snow. They may need salt on Saturday unless the sun hits them tomorrow. Also holes 14-24 were not touched today, so those most likely will need some shoveling and/or salt. I vote 24 longs if we can get them clean, i may head out there tomorrow anyone is welcome to join just call or post. See ya'll on Saturday!!!

Thank you Nate. I would be out there with you but I work tomorrow. Let me know if I need to head out there early Saturday...

John Minicuci    February 11, 2013 at 3:41am

Sounds like an epic battle took place at Addison on Sat.
I felt terrible all weekend and was glad I left it for you 8 to decide the outcome.
Josh Chef Shulte hits a 35 foot stradle putt from woods on hole 24 for the duece and the win!
Nice job Josh.
A HUGE Thanks to Joe Olson and Nate Buban for cleaning the tee pads.
Ace Pool at $134 going into Firefighters next week.

Well, I didn't say they would salt, in fact, that never was mentioned so I doubt it. I also know they will try and get as many as they can but may not get to all of them.

If the parks are going out to shovel and salt I'd say I'll be there 11:30ish

Yesssir - I called them on Wednesday and left messages. I spoke with Duane yesterday and Boyd today. Their goal was to send guys out there late this afternoon and again in the morning tomorrow. If we do 18 shorts then yes, we would skip the field holes out by Mike Walker Road. And, umm, Mike, that was a nice try slipping in that "I pick my own partner" line. Thinking about it for the split second actually worthy of my time, I call foot fault!

Mike Walker    February 8, 2013 at 11:11pm

Ok, here is the proposed format: 18 holes.shorts on 4,6, and 24. I pick my own partner.skip holes 16 thru 21. Any objections?

Joe Olson    February 8, 2013 at 10:28pm

Hey Mike, maybe we can get players to clean the shorts in the morning.

Joe Olson    February 8, 2013 at 10:27pm

John made the call. The park is going to try and get 24 long, starting today and continuing tommorow. (I vote for playing 18)

Buban, as of now I'm planning on heading out early as well. The pads they do today may need touched up from the wind blowing. What time you thinking?

More that help the easier it'll be and better chance for all the holes we play to be clean.

Ok, shorts on 4,6,24(18). What 6 holes do we skip? Walk from 15 to 22?

don't ask questions with obvious answers. make your questions harder and my responses will be more valuable.

Mike Walker   February 9, 2013 at 9:58am

doubt it

Shaun Adkins   February 9, 2013 at 10:25am

i doubt you can ask a question worth asking. talking sense into old people is tough.

Joe Olson    February 8, 2013 at 9:36pm

I texted John to check in on the situation. However imagine anyone could call. Just not sure who to ask for. Or what name to drop.

They said that they would shovel them for us if someone calls to let them know that we will be there.

18 holes shorts on 4, 6, 18(24). Good idea mike, was thinking the same thing. I was going to try and head out a bit early to shovel some pads, wouldn't mind company.

it may be a good idea to drop down to 18 holes tomorrow at addy.and possibly use some of the new short tee pads.anyone have any thoughts on a good format of holes/tee pads.snow will be deep out there.park may have the pads shoveled, but i wouldnt count on it.
