Whispering Wednesdays Doubles League
All are welcome to play. Participants must use discs intended specifically for disc golf. A basic level of skill and some recreational experience is recommended. You don’t have to be a pro by any means, but you should have enough skill to be safe to your competitors and not slow the pace of play.
To Enter
• Arrive prior to the draw which will adjust as daylight becomes available and be posted prior to tee off
• Pay the entry fee: $3.
• OPTIONAL: $1 to be eligible to win the Ace Pot.
• OPTIONAL: $1 to compete in a one hole CTP (Closest To Pin) contest.
Rules and Guidelines
• Teams consist of 2 players, drawn randomly. In the event that an odd number of players enter, the odd player playing will be given the option to play either “Cali†or “Schitzo†by paying twice the initial entry fee to receive 2 throws from every lie. Otherwise, the “Cali†person receives 1 extra throw per hole.
• In the event of an odd grouping and to help promote speed of play there may be more than one Cali player for the night, at TD discretion.
• If a partner has to leave at any point prior to the end of play, regulation or playoff, the remaining player receives 1 extra throw per hole to use as they will.
• Format is favorite disc, stroke play event.
• Official PDGA rules are observed, as well as those of Whispering Falls DGC (O.B.’s and Mandos)
• Layout is at the discretion of the TD and will be announced before noon on Wednesdays via the 717 Facebook group page.

Payout
• 10 players or fewer = winning team takes all entry fee money.
• 11-15 players = 2nd place team wins back their entry fees, 1st place takes remaining entry fees.
• 16+ players = 3rd place wins back their entry fees, 2nd place wins twice their entry fees, 1st place takes remaining entry fees.
• Ties that impact payout will be resolved by playoff at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
Ace Pot
• In the event of an ace, 75% percent of the existing pot is paid out. Multiple aces evenly split that day’s 75% payout. The remaining 25% not paid when an ace is made becomes next week’s pot. If no ace is hit, the pot continues to carry over. Only aces made in regulation play pay out.
CTP (Closest to Pin)
• After teams are drawn, the tournament director will randomly draw 1 hole for the CTP contest. The first team that will reach that hole will be provided a flag to mark the closest drive from tee pad to the pin.
• A player that becomes CTP should record their name on the flag and move it to the spot of their disc. They must also record their name on the scorecard, in the event the CTP flag is removed.
• The last group of the day to play the CTP hole should bring the flag in with them to give to the tournament director.
• Winner takes all of that day’s CTP contest entry money and also gets their choice of a free disc. Once the discs are gone, the winner will only get the CTP contest entry money.
Points
• Each player starts with 5 points per event. Additional points are added or subtracted based on the Teams strokes above or below the event average, rounded to the nearest .5.
• Five bonus points are awarded for first place.
• Ten bonus points are awarded to any player (individual) who gets an ace.
• At least one point will be awarded to all who play.
Finale
• There may be a league finale based on attendance and general interest, but any points earned will feed into Freestate Doubles.
The STANDARD FSD points system:
Each player starts each event with 5 points. When the round is finished the TD will average all scores to the nearest .5. If a player's score is lower than the average the difference is added to that players score. So, if the average score for all teams is 56 and a player threw a 53 then 3 points would be added to his/her score giving him 8 points for that event. Visa versa if the average is 56 and a player threw 59 then 3 points would be subtracted giving him/her 2 points. All players get at least 1 point. Bonus points go to the winners (+5) and to anyone who throws an ace (+10). In any given FSD league event (beginning with this rules clarification on 4/8/17), if two or more teams tie for the win, and the win cannot be decided by a playoff, the winning teams will split the first place points evenly among the teams.
2 tie - 2.5 pts per team
3 tie - 1.5 pts per team
4 tie - 1.25 pts per team
5 tie - 1 pt per team
Payout, and any playoff for 2nd, 3rd place, etc., as that does not affect League points, is up to the discretion of the event TD.
----------------------------------------------------------------
At the end of the year, we will take players from each FSD Division and they will compete in the Freestate Doubles Championship, Champions Division. The number of players that will qualify will be determined at a later date, as we get closer to the end of the season. Anyone who doesn't make it into the Champions Division, will be welcome to compete at the Finale in the Field Division.
The "overall" points champion will be determined by taking the #1 points earner from each league division, and dividing their total points by the number of rounds that they have played. The player with the best scoring average will become the Freestate "overall" champion for the season.
Additional information regarding the FSD Finale will be posted at a later date.
