Do I need a PayPal account to register online?

Typically, no. Registrants may pay using a debit or credit card, or they may pay using their PayPal account.

Some events may require registrants to pay using a PayPal account.

PayPal says my credit card can't be used. What should I do?

I registered online but didn't receive any confirmation emails. Am I registered?

The registration process is three steps:

1. Enter registration info on DiscGolfScene.com
2. Enter payment information on PayPal.com
3. Confirm and complete the registration on DiscGolfScene.com

When you register online, you will be sent at least one email confirming your registration.
The confirmation email comes from [email protected] and is sent immediately.

If the registration was paid, you (or the person who paid) will receive an email receipt from PayPal.

The registrant's name will also show up immediately in the Registered Players section of the event page.

If those things did not happen, then the registration process is not complete.

Do I need a Disc Golf Scene account to register online?

No. A Disc Golf Scene account is never required to register for a tournament.

If a registrant does have an account, upcoming events and memberships for which they have registered will be visible on their profile.

Can I register online with a prepaid gift card?

Gift cards can occasionally cause problems when registering online.

If you encounter an issue, please see PayPal's guidelines for gift cards.

What is the $1.84 credit card charge from DGSCENE.COM?

Disc Golf Scene charges a non-refundable fee of $1.84 per tournament registration.

This fee may be charged in addition to the registration entry fee, or it may be subtracted from the registration entry fee.
The choice is up to the host organization.

Changing divisions and updating registration

To make changes to your registration, use the link provided in the registration confirmation email.

The Tournament Director may change registration info at their discretion.

If registration has closed or you do not have the confirmation email, contact the Tournament Director or post in the Comments section on the tournament page.

Alternately, if you are logged in to your Disc Golf Scene website account, navigate to the Registered Players page of the tournament. At the top of the page you will be presented with links to Edit your registration or Withdraw from the tournament.

If modifying your registration results in a change in your payment amount (e.g., adding a new add-on option, changing divisions to a differently priced division), you will be directed to pay the resulting difference if the resulting price is higher than what you originally paid or will be flagged for a refund if the resulting price is lower.

What is the green asterisk next to a name in Registered Players?

The registration record indicates the registrant has not yet paid the full entry fee.

This may be due to one of the following:

Registrants who have not paid in full may not appear in the Current Registration list at PDGA.com.

If the full entry fee has been paid, please contact the tournament staff so they can update the registration record.

Tournament staff can enable or disable this setting.

Why was I charged full entry fee for the Waitlist?

When an event fills quickly, some players may be charged full entry fee for Waitlist entries even if there is a lower fee or no fee set for the Waitlist.

The event, division or pool may not be filled at the time the registrant completes the registration form on Disc Golf Scene.

When registrants are redirected to PayPal, the registrant must confirm the expected charges on PayPal’s website, then return to Disc Golf Scene to complete the registration. During this time, the event/division/pool can fill.

Once the registrants have returned to Disc Golf Scene to complete their registration, we’re not able to change the details of the PayPal transaction (for example, to charge a $5 waitlist fee instead of the full entry fee) without the registrant returning to PayPal and re-confirming a new total.

Additionally, online payments can take between 3-7 seconds to process, during which time the registrant's selected division/pool may fill and result in that registrant being placed on the Waitlist despite having paid the full entry fee.

Contact the event for specific questions about an event's Waitlist policy.

PayPal transaction rejected or reversed due to User Agreement

Some registrations may not complete and produce the message "This transaction cannot be completed because it violates the PayPal User Agreement."

The transaction may temporarily appear as a hold in your bank/credit card account, but will clear within 1-2 business days.
