Pros: With holes no longer than 250' it's a great course to introduce friends to DG
On the hottest of days you have Barton Springs close by
If course isn't crowded you can play a round in close to an hour
Can.t really lose discs on this course
Cons: Hard to find some of the tees on the south nine
Not very challenging for more experienced players
More of a pitch and putt course, No drives over 250'
Other Thoughts: You can park under the mopac bridge to advoid the parking fees on the weekends

This course is a dog! Not very impressive for one of Austin's more prominent parks. Short holes, unimaginative design, with weird obstacles. Like cars and construction fencing? I guess a decent park to shape up the short game or to first learn. I will be back but it will be to walk along the river. This park is very crowded and is out shined by better courses in the area. Sorry I do not like writing bad reviews. In this case I am left with little choice... :(

Definitely the better of the two, several holes north of 320' and some risk/reward. #7 is the signature hole for sure--a 360' par 3 with OB road all along the right and running through the fairway just before the green. If you've got a big arm and trust your aim then you should go for the green off the tee! Hole #9 is a 190' par 3 straightaway (free birdie anyone?). Really short holes, all under 300'. Not especially picturesque, just a lot of dead plants and some leftover fencing from ACL. One mando but the course could use a few more to add a challenge. There are no real alternative back or back door routes, it's very straightforward. I wish there were sharper doglegs or tighter windows off the tee to make up for how short the course is. Now I understand why all the locals were just playing the North Course...
