This spot has a perfect mix of everything. Some super long open par 4 bombers, well placed OB, thick wooded holes, tunnel shots, ace runs, a bit of elevation. The grounds are always well manicured and cared for. Extra emenitites like bathrooms, river access, biking paths and nature trails. Access can be blocked just after a big storm the river can flood the entry road on the way in, but the course is well drained and doesn't ever get sloppy like nearby Champoeg.

Several holes over 450. Technical holes. Well groomed and maintained in a picturesque setting. Catch the Wheatland ferry in. Best course in the Salem area.

Very challenging/exciting course for the advanced level player(MA1). Has some getable holes and some tough lines to hit.

First time to huck here and it's a real gem the long par 4s are tough but doable and the 3s are not gimmies by any means you have to use all the tricks of the trade and know what and how to toss. For how big it is, its very very well manicured.

This is my favorite course within 30 miles of Salem, Oregon. It just flows so well through the area and tests both your technical and distance skills. I love it and hate it at the same time but I'm always enjoying myself when I play here. I highly suggest playing with someone else so you have a spotter. It is easy to lose discs on about 1/2 the holes if you can't follow your line.

This is an awesome course with all kinds of different shots required and pretty darn good signage for finding holes. I had no issues on first trip playing there. Was pretty well manicured too (could be because of tournament the weekend before). Worth every penny of the $5 daily park fee. If I lived closer this would become my go to park.

Course is looking good... tee signs in and very helpful in getting around.
All the Open fairways are mowed and we'll defined. The inner/ wooded holes are starating to grow out and the ever present poison oak is popping up.

Tough course. Lots of variety, mixing wooded and open shots. Quite technical in many spots. Lots of trees, bushes on many of the holes. Some low canopy in spots. Quite a few 400+ holes, which can be tough too if you don't have a cannon arm. The baskets seem to be a bit low on most holes, and they're certainly not the best quality. This is a course I'll play again for sure.

I liked it a lot :) I see where things are in the grand scheme of things and it's only a matter of time before this becomes an "A" in my book! My only disappointment is the Amounts of Poison Oak as I am Extremely allergic and therefore I will not be back til winter... But that's just me and my personal issue... All in all this is a destination of destinations in the Disc Golf Courses of the N.W.

Great course loved the big holes giggity, and the technical ones made you earn ur birdies. Rewarded for good throws and punished for bad! Lots of friendly bounces mainly because the course is relatively flat and the grass is short. A lot of work was put in to make this beautiful 18 that's for sure. Will be back in the summer to see how the growth effects the holes. Well done pacwest it's an A in my book

When playable, this is a great hidden course! One thing keeping this from being an A is the constant flooding on the road leading to the course, which limits access during winter months...

As others have said, its a challenging course that forces you to use many different shot types with some creativity. Beautiful tunnel shots, open field shots, extreme dog legs, etc. A full length 18 hole course, its a fun and worthwhile trip for sure.

Getting to the next tee pad can be confusing, limited signage. Once that gets solved, its in the A range for sure, even with winter floods.

For my first time here I must say I really liked the course. Good distances to air it out, but most holes require accuracy off the tee box. Some neat hole designs, and a very cool/tough tunnel shot. This course can be challenging but not ridiculous. Needs up to date tee signs/par info for a couple holes, other then that not to many complaints in time could be a top notch course.

Great coarse!! Reminds me of Milo, and Dexter. This coarse will only get better with time. Not sure if I agree with all of the Par 4's. There where a couple par 3's that could of been switched with a couple of the par 4's. I would defiantly travel to play this coarse again.

This course still has the new car smell. 1st class teepads and good signage. Blue Bentleys round out the course. Being new this course is pretty rough with lots of blackberries and poison oak. Open, technical long short you name it. Many holes feature sections of an old filbert orchard to shoot through or guard pins. When this course gets worn in and cleaned out a bit its an A. I also felt a few of the pars should have been swapped. Loooong hole in woods gets a 3 but an open long field shot a 4? You will see what I mean when you play it. I would go out of my way to play here again.

This course is a little rough for the first 7 even though there has been tons of work. The poison oak seems to be cut pretty short so watch your ankles. Most of that oak was within those first 7 holes. Plenty of variety of shots. As soon as this course has been in for a couple of years and starts to clean up it will be an A.

Liked the teepads with the foot fault built in, but didn't like the blackberries and poison oak. The course has potential and like most courses will get better once it gets beat down a little. I'll give in another try in a few months. I'm sure my rating of this course will go up eventually.

I've heard and read good things and bad things about this course. Finally got out and played a round with a coworker, I enjoyed playing the layout and will play it more in the future. Unfortunately vandals have removed some tee signs and walk out markers but was able to find all 18 holes in order. If you play the fairways, really no problems. Get off in the berry vines and crap you will lose your disc. Not a beginner course. Good job by PacWest, State Parks and all of the volunteers.

Finally managed to get a round in with some friends Saturday afternoon, and while the course did kick our butts, I love the course layout! We play Woodmansee a lot, and this is like a longer version of Woodmansee, with 18 original instead of a repeated 9. Lots of variation, from short, heavily wooded shots to long, open-air bomb ranges. Every shot in your arsenal comes into play at some point. Didn't see too much garbage around the course, and only got a few mosquito bites between the four ...

I think this course brings things to the table that no other course in the Salem area has. Length, large tee pads, & some interesting shots. Yes I know is not finished & it is still rough in spots. But it is a course that is only about 1 month old. Soon there will be permanent tee signs, garbage cans, a kiosk, & permanent walk out signs. With these items and a year of play I believe this course can be rated even higher!

As of Sept. 2016 kiosk map, scorecards, and more work has been done. State made tee signs should be ready to install soon.

I was the first person to officially play the couse and I just went back a few weeks later to play it again. Even in the time between plays I can see how much work is being done on this course. Before I even played it, I was hoping the course design would incorporate the old filbert orchards into play. I was not disappointed. I love when people who play disc golf design a couse, and it is very evident here. Each hole is a little different from the next. The signiture hole will obviously be #12 i ...

I have only seen the first nine but use quite a few of my disc to get those done, which is a good thing due to the long and short holes and the drives going both right and left off the tees. and the technical trees left throughout the course.

I feel like this could be a sweet course someday. good teepads is always a plus in my book. really grippy and nice. not sure if im a fan of the footfault zone since I always like to throw off the front part so it messed with my head. I felt like I kept throwing the same few shots. just either huge hyzers of straight up the gut shots. the par 4's are really easy to 3 in my opinion but very hard to 2. whoever designed this layout loves to throw big hyzer bombs and over the top shots. hole 12 is su ...

This course is just awesome! Geared toward the intermediate to advanced player alike. The course has a lot of the variety lacking at other local courses, and will challenge you with every shot imaginable. This place can be thick, as stated, but as a new course it plays extremely well. Soon enough, there will be holes burrowed through the thick spots. Solid "B", soon to be an "A" after it breaks in a bit more.

Wheatland DGC has a good mix of technical and long open holes. This is exactly what this area needed. One course with a balanced layout and clever design that will last a lifetime. Don't expect this course to reach its best form soon as much work is needed to get it to reach its potential. As grass grows in fairways and edges of wooded areas get beat in it will only improve without loosing its difficulty. I predict this course will be a local favorate imdediately and will be drawing PDGA sanctioned events with in 3 years.

Now the Salem area has that course that requires all the shots and skills in your bag. Its in its infancy and needs to be beat in. Wide fairways with some pretty nasty rough. Like most courses down South, you will find poison oak. There are mosquitos. YOU LIVE IN OREGON!! Learn to recognize poison oak and avoid it. Bug spray people..bug spray for pesty mosquitos. I played the course and saw plenty of both. Got 1 mosquito bite and no poison oak. With proper signage, a few trash cans and some foot ...

This course fills the gap that was lacking in the Salem-Keizer area. Great course with plenty of length and a level of technically that will make you work on your placement shots. It will only get better as permanent signage is already in the works. As long as you stay out of the rough and in the fairway it is a very playable course as-is and was designed with the intermediate to advanced player in mind.

This course is awesome. Lots of variety. Wooded shots, open big arm shots, tunnel shot. It has them all. When you come out to play here remember it is a brand new course. If you get off the fairways it is rough. Definitely play with a spotter. And beware the curse of the Valley. Mosquitoes and poison oak. Just add to your arsenal Technu and Cutters. This is a bad year for both. The course shows what determined disc golfers can build when working with blackberries, thick brush and poi ...

Course is awsome keeping in mind that it is new and alittle rough. The difficulty level is just right. Not unreasonably difficult but not easy by any standard. Goodixture of holes long and short and doglegs both ways. My review will bump up to an A when there is a kiosk with a course map and legit tee sinage. And maybe afew trash cans through out the course. All things that i believe will soon be established.

What I like about this course is it makes a player use a varity of shots. Most courses you use 3 to 5 discs to play, this course forces a player to think and use around 8to10 discs per round. There has been some dramatic improvement to this course in the past two weeks. The rough on holes 2,4, 5,6 has been worked over nicely. Tee pads are totally completed so the trip hazards are gone. There is still some fresh poison oak popping up on holes 4, 5, & 6 in the fairways (the cockroach of invasive p ...
