I've had a couple people ask me so......
According to the river forecast:
The road into Wheatland should be open late Monday or Tuesday.

Please call 503-393-1172, ext. 40, to attain info re: main entrance opening. It's sometimes closed due to high H2O. Alternatively, you may park by the Wheatland Ferry crossing and hike into the course.

Awesome!!

Mike Wilson    November 24, 2014 at 5:36am

With winter setting in, some course maintance will be slowed by the weather.
But I'd like to take this time to ask those that have played at Wheatland DGC:
What would you like to see added to the course and/or have us focus our attention on?
Here's your chance to voice your thoughts/ideas. Thanks

relocate camp host just a bit deeper?

Jason "Rooster" Bruster   November 27, 2014 at 4:57pm

Camp host is not an issue in the winter, none there and the Rangers set up netting to protect the site

Matthew Bressler   December 12, 2014 at 12:00pm

A little more clean up around baskets. A lot of the things will be taken care of in time with people getting out there and beating down the undergrowth. It is a really great course guys. Thinking I may hike in on Sunday. Where would I enter from?

Steve Moore    November 21, 2014 at 11:19pm

May be problems getting into course this weekend and at least first of next week. According to Mike Wilson 12' level will generally close access road. http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=pqr&gage=slmo3

It's about 7.5' tall and 5' wide and top heavy.

Steve Moore   November 9, 2014 at 8:27pm

Anybody got a small crane or pickup with tow lift in back of it. Guess it's people power to the rescue. Are holes already dug or have pole hole digger to do that?

Mike Wilson   November 9, 2014 at 8:34pm

Just need some extra manpower.

Mike Wilson    November 10, 2014 at 2:42am

Kiosk has arrived and should be installed by weeks end! Pictures to follow.

Mike Wilson    November 2, 2014 at 7:01am

Was able to get out to Wheatland DGC this morning to get some stuff done. Since we finally got our hands on some bark chips, the tee pads on 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 16, & 17 are finally back filled!! There's more out there too and when I can get the tractor scheduled out again I'll start covering some of the walk out trails.

Just a reminder that this Sat. Oct. 12th there is a very large X-Country Meet at Willamette Mission. I would stay away and play elsewhere as they will be running thru areas of the course.

Got some more work done tonight. Cleaned up behind 8's basket, on the left side of 15's basket, went around & double checked everything I did yesterday, plus some exploratory work. I think the course looks to be in real good shape. So get out there this weekend and play a round!!!

Thanks for update Mike and all you do for the course.

Jim Costello   October 3, 2014 at 10:56am

Don't think I had my name/number on it yet. It's a green & white Vibram Lace. Tried to curl it around the right side of the tree on the 15th fairway, and it went 100 ft. forward instead of to the right. So it's buried in shoulder-high blackberries probably 50 feet past the foot ... more

Mike Wilson    September 20, 2014 at 8:55am

The Rangers asked me to forward this:
If you are planning on having a large group or holding a tourney at WMSP please contact the Rangers. They want to work with DG'ers to make sure that everyone can enjoy the course. Just be up front with them on your plan/idea. They WILL work with you.

Next Thursday the 26th our kiosk arrives and we are working on scheduling a date for it to be installed.

Also got all the excess concrete around the tee pads cleaned up. And as soon as we get some dirt/bark chips I'll begin backfilling them.

Steve Moore   September 19, 2014 at 10:03pm

give me a hollor when dirt/bark chips arrive if you want some help with them. Keep up the good work you do for all.

Steve Moore   September 28, 2014 at 4:16pm

Heard rumor plans on putting kiosk in tomorrow Monday. Would be happy to assist but already plans for going up to Champoeg course to get measurements taken now all the alt locations dug. Sounds like Monday is a good day for disc golf courses in the area to get closer to completion of the extra goodies.

Mike Wilson   September 28, 2014 at 4:55pm

Kiosk didn't arrive on this shipment. Waiting to hear.

Mike Wilson    September 20, 2014 at 5:37am

Mark your calendars!
Wednesday Sept. 25th- there will be a cross country meet out at Willamette Mission and they will have part of the course closed. Please plan accordingly.
Saturday October 11th- there will be a huge district cross country meet AND the course will be closed.

A unique MVP Volt was turned into me by a fellow DG'er, no name or number. Describe it and I'll make sure it finds it's way back to you.
