Either way, the blocks are the best way to go. No mixing concrete and hauling mixed concrete through the woods, no forms or anything like that. Just a shovel and elbow grease.

The first picture in this google search is what I'm talking about. 8 16x16" blocks creates a pretty large teeing area. I imagine less would be needed at ww. Getting the squares embedded into the dirt is the key to this design.

Good idea Wade. Also, IMO, I think if we are only laying down one set of tees, it should be for the whites, not the reds. I'd leave the short tees natural and have tees for the longer placements where the footing is needed (to get extra distance) similar to how they have it at Independence Lake.
I think pads would be a wasted idea for the red tees because most of them are short and don't even require much of a run up anyways - 2,3,4,5,7,9 can all be easily reached from a standsti ...

The ones currently in ground are flat landscaping blocks 8 X 16 I believe, I have seen the style of pad you are talking about and thought about doing the same here, thou with the mixed reviews so far I am unsure of the outcome of that. https://twitter.com/#!/ValarieJenkins/media/slideshow?url=pic.twitter.com%2Fq6PhBYus&utm_source=fb&utm_medium=fb&utm_campaign=ValarieJenkins&utm_content=246315047419256832 kinda along the lines of this, thou we only have the sides done and the f ... more

Flat landscape blocks could be used to make tees. 16"x16" flat blocks can be arranged together to create a large and flat surface much like that of a concrete formed tee. Cheaper I'm sure too.

Oh....And thanks to Allied for supplying the bricks and high low to unload the skids. Miah's employer really stepped up to the bar this past weekend. We don't know how the Kaptin did it, but he was right...He earned those bj's ;)

Thanks for the positive vibes Ken. On the pads....It's only for the interim. Most have complained that the two pavers were hard to find/see. This layout at least defines the actual pad space. Concrete Pads are on the list, but are not a priority at the moment. Right now the goal is to show Ypsi Pirate Bay is being played regularly. Once we can show them evidence that the Bay is being used all day/all year, we should hopefully see some real money going back into the park (ie, new pads, ... more

Course is looking really good thanks for all the hard work. I will say im not a fan of the bricks on the sides of the tee area and boards in front. Def a hazard and think it was fine before. Spray paintng lines or anything but that im all for. Really not taking anything away from your guys hard work, really much appreciated. Just saftey issue

Saw the latest pic's...Sean, Jimmy and KC did a hell of job getting the rest of the grapes and ivy off the baseball diamond. That is HUGE!!!! One of the many reason I hang with the 24 Cha!ns gang, man we can kick some major community service ass!

and Steve Tubbert. I forgot to mention him in the last few mentions. In regards to chipping the baskets, I was hesitant in requesting that for the fact of if the were to clip one with a loader we would be up a creek. See also Lakeshore ;)

Just got off the phone with the city and they thanked us big time for our work out there. Turns out that a little league team has been fixing up the ball diamond to be able to play out there once again and we just helped that cause out a ton with clearing out the brush and filling the ankle snappers. So big ups to K.C , Mike E, Cassidy and all others who spent hours trimming that forest.
The city should be going out there soon-ish and picking up the piles of trimmings that were left near the ...

As the Admiral noted earlier, you should wait to mark anything with paint. This is the time of the year dew is thick and plentiful in the AM, and I am positive the city will mow before the Tourney. Paint will wear/wash away in a matter of days, and then the city will cut back the rest. But to each his own.....

What time tomorrow Sean? I don't know when I might get out of work, but I can try to make it.

I'll mark them tonight I have red flagging tape somewhere, I am printing up mando/ob list to attach to the scorecards so everyone's clear

Yep - and the blocks can be easily moved if you ever want to redesign the hole.
Check out the "21st Seneca Soiree" - the paver blocks got rave reviews from the pros who played it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMGdPu3p8Xk&feature=g-user-u
