Doug, the owner, has 4 hand made tire baskets that catch everything. Nothing is over 325ft and yet the course is suitable for the beginner and interesting enough for the pros. All birdie opportunities and yet bogies and double bogies abound.

This course teaches the importance of upshots like none other. A haven of peace, and yet a mental challenge, the owner is one of the kindest and most lovable men I know. Mastering this course will take many strokes off your game.

The course also had a couple of mystical unicorn layouts, as well as some interesting house rules. The only course I know where you can get 5 stroke on 4 holes with only 1 ace. Hole 16 has an extra putt opportunity to take a stroke off your score, and holes 19-21 are played together where you tee off on all three holes at the same time. If you are CTP on all 3 you get an additional stroke subtracted from your score.

With both open and tight fairway shots, and a telescopic basket that can be elevated 12ft high, you need to play this course.

What a treat....3 acres used creatively to make for a fun, " unique " course...oh yeah, quite the challenge as well. Each hole offers something different and requires some course management. I really enjoyed Dougs story and appreciated the hard work put into his backyard oasis...fun land!. The taco shot is great, and plan to play hole 21 over a few times...and just maybe, as Doug explains hole 21, he will ace it like he did when I played with him. This is one of the funnest courses I have ever played. I was lucky enough to be the one to name it. Glad Doug likes it :) You will have to throw over/under/through and around left and right. Longest hole is 350ish. Don't hit your car on the taco hole (saw Eric Karloski break his taillight, you just can't buy that entertainment). Very nice. The hanging tire baskets are by far the best homemade baskets I have played on. Doug was generous enough to let me run a number of league rounds and 2 tournaments here with Great White Buffalo. The league rounds were awesome and the tournaments were 2 of the funnest I have attended. This course is a unicorn. Encounters will not likely be forgotten. Three Acres is the stuff of legend.
