Riverside is a fun course to play including water on many holes. Open with Mature trees, water, signature peninsula hole and goose poop. If you are close to Grand Rapids, this is one to check out.

Riverside needs an update. Should remove the post course and redesign the layout to play a 24 hole course. Lots of goose poo at this course, can also flood after some rain.
Course has been updated, really long layout. Some old tee pads are in use.

Pretty nice course minus the goose turds, make sure you go to the 2nd entrance if coming from downtown GR, otherwise you'll be stuck on the pole course. Couple of scary water hazard shots but nothing too bad.

Would have rated it a B but there was too much goose poop

Overall this course has everything the downside is it is mostly wet areas best to go in the summer. Love the layout here

Great course from longs lots of tough approach shots, fairway drives, water and a Beautiful park, one of the best in GR.

This redesign is awesome. Long holes that require accurate shots. Water and lots of OB can easily boost your score. Don't be fooled by the flat fairly open land. This course will test you.
Needs tee signs badly.
Lots of fun. And well worth the trip

YAYYY! New Riverside is awesome and challenging. The length is great and many of the placement of the tees and pins are in spots which cause you to have to throw straight due to obstacles. Holes 1, 6, &18 are nice challenging bombs and hole 15 was a cool little technical shot which stood out in my mind. This redesign is awesome. The Discatchers are awesome. Can't wait to see Worlds on this layout. Grand Rapids area has some legitimately challenging high quality courses now. Well worth the play.

Played during the week of the Masters Worlds, absolutely beautifully groomed and the new holes and extensions to previous holes are really world class. Beautiful renovations to an already beautiful park.

Worlds layout is hard af compared to the old layout. Really fun, just tough.

Played this course during lunch break at Pro Master Worlds had to hustle. The course plays through a flat, grassy park with scattered mature trees. Most of the holes have enough trees that you have to pick one of several lines and hit it to score well. Water comes into play on several holes, with a couple water carries (offering safe routes for shorter arms) and a few tricky pin placements that offer nice risk. The peninsula hole is a great risk/reward shot, plenty of room to lay up and leave a l ...

South course is OLD. No date of when this was made. Poles for holes (18) and there are a couple that you just need to be creative and make a target. It is fun though and a good warm up or warm down after the Main course. Many people that play riverside don't know about this one. Tee pad for 1 is close to tee for 17 form main course.

This is the best course in the immediate GR Metro area. A true pro style course where distance, accuracy and putting are needed to score well.
Use the UDisc app to navigate the course as there are not tee signs for many holes. The neighbor association didn’t allow for the completion of the course in 2017. So, there are rubber tees on 6 holes. But, if you use UDisc it’s very easy to navigate.

was only one course when played in 2002 had a mix of concrete and dirt tees and my least favorite basket the discatchers grr but still a good course would like to go back and get to play both of them.

This was a fun course. Has a few challenging holes. Navigation was a little interesting. The people got in the way a couple time but that is expected at a park like that. Cool course.

Really nice course that winds around a nasty pond. quite a few easy holes but a enjoyable course none the less.

well, this course keeps me bitching, and keeps me comming back... fun to chase the Birdies, and the water holes starting at 13 really give a team thats down in the dumps a chance to risk it all and be rewarded.. watching the water discs are always a good laugh if it wasn't "your" shot, the further out, the better... lol, always good people at this course makes it a fun place to show up and see your fellow disc fanatics ;)...

Lots of open space, mostly older DisCatchers, some newer ones, at least one Mach 5. Really liked the waterholes on the back 9, but I think the par is a bit inflated.

can't complain about the course other than what ever body else complains about. get over it or don't play there!

Fun course as long as you don't mind going into a pond to get your disc on a few of the holes at the end. Tests your accuracy pretty good. Majority of holes are fairly open and being right up against the Grand River completes the ambiance.

The course is in pretty good shape right now. Goose dookie peninsula is even mostly dry. Nice weather brings out lots of picnickers so be prepared to either wait for them to notice you and wrangle their kids or move on to the next hole.

Awesome views of the river and pond. Sweet shots by the water and walk way. Nice park for all things. I use to fish the pond in the seventies. Fun and fond memories.

Well maintained and lots of fun to play, No elevation but challenging long and tree obsticles, water comes into play in a few holes, not extremely difficult unless ya wing one the wrong way :) --

Goose Shit and STD filled water, other than than, a challenging great course. I love shooting over the water, just not swimming in it.

Great course to air it out and putt. Layout follows the Grand River and plays on an island in the middle of the river. Water on 7 of the holes so muddin is part of the round if you take risks. Couple negatives are tons of bikers along 4 fairways, territorial geese standoffs and flat.

when i lived in the grap, i loved this course. it can really suck for a wicked hyzer shooter... you wont leave w as many discs as you showed up w. play a safe round, and you come out w a huge score... take a chance, and you could have a game worth bragging about. love it.

Would give it an A- if it weren't for all the goose sh*t on the back nine.

Pros: Cement tees, descent baskets, Good open beginner course with plenty of nice people at the course. Fun place to bring the family as they have several playgrounds and places to fish.
Cons: Gets flooded whenever it rains and makes several holes unplayable. Make sure to bring a can of Deep Woods OFF as the mosquitoes are TERRIBLE. This is as to be expected of course next to the water.

The new championship layout that was implemented for the 2017 PDGA Masters Worlds made this course very long and challenging. Top level course in west Michigan.

Holes 15 and 16 need to be changed. They are too close to people fishing and kids playing on a play structure. Half the year the holes are under water anyway.

Has alot of fun. First time through with a plus five. Didn't even have to go wading. My run through reminded me of my hate for the Canadian Goose.

The new layout and new baskets are great! There are several long holes that will test your arm and a few shorter technical holes. Great flow to the course and an awesome use of space!

Nice Family Friendly course, Mostly open but has nice water hazards
+0 votes Nicholas Jones › Main course › January 14, 2019
Liked the course. Layout was confusing with half the tee pads being cement and other half being dirt. Made it hard to find holes. A little more work with direction and ter pads and maps and the course would be an A course.

somewhat redundant holes as you move along the river. It does make for multiple water hazards.

This course is a real joke. Won't be here again.

this ole course is the first one that I played on. Back in 1984. I lived near by in the mid seventies. I don't remember it there back then. I do have great memories of this park. LAV raft races.

My first time here. Played in the snow, most pads were covered but I was able to find all of them. Great course, I can't wait too see it in spring. Tee signs need to be repaired but pads are the sweet pyramid style good for rightys and leftys. Lake was frozen but doesn't really come into play unless your terrible. Beautifull course, I don't understand why no one was there??

One of the oldest courses in town and one of the most dreaded. fairly straight-forward course with open lines on every hole but half of the holes have water on the left and no hole has water on the right. Poor course design and too much pedestrian activity in fairways along with the fact that the course is under water half the year and covered in about 2 inches of goose poop the rest of the year (a favorite stop for birds migrating both ways) make this course barely worth playing and you'd be better off playing the first 10 holes, then making up safari holes on your way back to your car.

This was by far my most played course, but only because it was the closest course to me. This course has a few good holes, but all in all I am pretty sick of playing here. Nearly every time I go, i see someone fishing for their discs in one of the many water holes, and the water here is disgusting. I have seen three of my friends have to go into the water to retrieve discs and every time they come out smelling terrible! I routinely skip the hole that is placed on the peninsula because there is s ...

This course does not offer much of anything I am looking for in a DGC. Granted it's old and not really designed as so much placed tee pads and baskets. very repetitious boring use of land not utilized. There's a swamp in middle that comes into play on about 6 holes. 3 of these are interesting with a high risk reward routes. Other than that get ready to throw 240-290 straight every other shot. Course is in a populated park along the grand river. Goose poop is terrible on the two penisula ho ...

When I played 3 of the holes were under water. So with that being said I'm knocking it a little bit. But an open flat course with some trees and a couple of water holes. Hole 1 and pretty far away from the parking lot and they need to have a practice tee.

Dangerous water hazard shots and lacking in many areas. Design, challenge, uniqueness.
