Anybody know what condition this course is in? Thinking about heading out there, Sunday, but heard the course was torn up because of work the park is doing. Can anyone confirm of refute that?

The course is completely unscathed there just happens to be gravel roads through it now. 3-7 are being worked on now but I doubt they are working tomorrow.

lost a glow wizard on hole 9. Was practice putting and it and it disappeared over the hill. Didn't seem like it went that far but couldn't find it. Its somewhere sort of the basket on the hill in those leaves.

Absolutely one of the worst courses I've ever played. Me and Adam hit it up last night for the first time and it sucks. There is no direction to the next hole and the teepads are old and worn, which some are not even there. Was very confusing and I don't even think we played a full 18 holes cause we had no idea where to go. Would not recommend this course to anyone that has not played it before. Some holes were ok but I give it an overall rating of "D".

Now if you understand that the course is unders construction. You wouldn't have said that. It's ok though. Play it next year it will be great.

Wow, your part of dgs and there is a map for the new" awesome course ... :((( very upset about a D rating, deff. An A course ,,, thx John and everybody helping to make this course one of the best in metro detroit !! Thx guy for the bad rating,, lol it is a 27 hole course :)

hang in there nick, i didnt like it first few times i played it, that was over 15 years ago. once you learn the layout im sure you will grow to appreciate that park, as much as many of us do.

Nick you should go back to playing firefighters / Wagner / Starr/ rain tree They r more suited for your see every hole from the parking lot kinda play

If your rating was for the man-eating mosquitos that will take a pint of blood from you in a single round, I would understand. But this course is a work in progress. Take a copy of John's map and play it again and then see how you feel about it. If you still feel it's a D course then Ed is right, stick to the flat straight courses.

Nick you should research a course before playing it the first time. There is a pretty clear map in the photos. or bring someone who knows the course is always a good idea. you're basically complaining that you had to take a math test, but you never went inside the classroom. kind of your own fault.

This course is leaps and bounds better than it was a year ago. Not hard to navigate once you know what's going on out there. Hit any of us up if you are trying to go back I live 10 minutes from there.

not every course can be a Gem! you gotta be fair sometimes and appreciate each course for what it has to offer individually. river bends is nice I have played way worse courses in my day.

Good god the mosquitos are insane currently. Worst I have ever experienced them while playing here. The course is having a real hard time drying out it looks like so there is a lot of water underneath the long grass. Bring ample bug spray and strong stuff at that. Even with 3 spraying I was still being bit some and most definitely hounded with them hovering around. Standing still for longer than 3 seconds brought swarms upon us.

short tees are in for hole 5 (new hole) and the long tee for 15, the big river hole, is gone. to be played from the short tee until further notice

For the moment yes. shelby Twp is looking to stop some of the river erosion. The river has widened considerably and I think the bridge is going to start becoming an issue. so for the time being, that shot is out. I do think John is looking to keep it though just don't know the ins and outs.
