Ockie Wisting has potential. The holes are pretty diverse with a mixture of long and short holes, along with OB water and some other additional OB and a mandatory. It's not the most challenging course, but I had a ton of fun playing in a tournament there. Ockie Wisting has potential. The holes are pretty diverse with a mixture of long and short holes, along with OB water and some other additional OB and a mandatory. It's not the most challenging course, but I had a ton of fun playing in a tournament there. My recommendation is to use mostly putters and midranges because the holes are generally short; there are a few par 4's, one being over the water, so a driver could be used. There are also a few open holes that a driver could be used on. My only problem was the amount of thorns and the mud. Due to the course being on protected ground, the county doesn't allow concrete teepads, but instead a material that will be able to erode away. This being said the rock teepads sometimes have holes in them because of the plant foot digging into them. Also, when it rains, the small walk to hole 1 is very muddy and wet, so bring waterproof shoes. The volunteers are working very hard to clean the course up and it's definitely improving!!

It takes a long time to find the course because you have to park outside the closed park and walk blindly until you find a basket. We split up and eventually found hole 1 and this course was one of the tightest courses I have ever played. Part of that was due to the fact that it was not kept well, and I wonder if it is because the park is currently closed. Most of it was wooded and tight, but there were a few open holes, and the tee for 18 was elevated high and cool shot. Could have potential but needs upkeep and better signs.
