This is one of the Best courses in the Houston Area. It has a variety of Open, Wooded, and Technical holes. The wind is the added bonus that makes this course tough to score on. This is one of the Best courses in the Houston Area. It has a variety of Open, Wooded, and Technical holes. The wind is the added bonus that makes this course tough to score on. This course will allow you to practice all your shots (short, wooded, technical, Open, accuracy).
Personal opinion is that Hole 1 and 18 (starting and finishing holes) are the hardest holes on the course. They seem simple in concept but the wind and OB will make you hesitate and think twice about your shot and bring bogey in the picture real quick.
The other great thing about this course is that you can just go practice on random holes without being disturbed or feel like you are in the way.
The only negatives is the back holes 9-11 can get flooded on a heavy rain day.
Some of the OB is not marked clearly as it would be in a tournament like holes 3, 4, and 5.

Breakdown: This is a beautiful beginner friendly course that is fun for experts alike, and the only reason it is not higher on the list is the distance it is from the population centers. For me, I've played it a couple times but it is truly too much of a pain to get to from my house in west Houston to be worth going to except on the rare occasion. For me, I've played it a couple times but it is truly too much of a pain to get to from my house in west Houston to be worth going to except on the rare occasion. However, if you are in that area and or enjoy time in the car this course is truly a gem. Fun technical holes, rippers, and everything in between. Intermediate golfers will have no problem picking up a few birdies, but the course does trap you into some simple mistakes that can be lethal to the scorecard if you are not a confident scrambler. Check this place out on a lazy weekend if you live in Houston and you will not regret it.
