Has anyone played in the last few days? I'm out here for a few weeks and was just wondering how the bugs are out there, also how are the surrounding courses as well, any hometown info about the courses out here would help greatly!!! Looking to play as much around here as I can but don't really wanna battle the bugs!

This course is definitely worth checking out.

Chris Lozen   June 13 at 10:41am

Myles is really fun. If you're in the area, also check out Hickory Hills and Kingsley.

Thomas Jones   6 days ago

Me and my two sons come up from Battle creek to play these three courses once a year. We play Flip City on the way up and play Boyne mountain last before we come home. This year will be our 12th annual trip. Love these courses.

Found a mini out here. Let me know if you lost one.

Anyone know how the tee pads are out here? I'll be in the area the next few days and would like to play one of the local courses. What's the best one to play this time of year?

I know Kingsley has been shoveled, but I haven't personally been out there to see how they are..

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's   January 15 at 10:55pm

Hickory Hills only has the first 6 holes in, and probably hasn't been played or taken care of much.

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's   January 15 at 10:58pm

Garbage Hill has been shoveled regularly, but recently got a bunch of ice covering the pads. You'll need permission to play here.

I'll be in area this weekend, anyone know if this course is open?

Can anyone tell me how the course looks? I few of my buddies and I are trying to find a nice course to go to that's opened for the winter while we are vacationing in the area. Any information will help!

Read next comment down course re-opened on November 6th.

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's   March 7, 2016 at 9:11pm

Open all year. Usually one of the last courses to lose its snow in the spring. But now with less trees it will get more sunlight, so maybe that'll change.

Chuck H.    January 29, 2016 at 5:27pm

Does anyone know if Myles Kimmerly is open now, or will be open this spring?

Yes, the storm damage was cleaned up and the course reopened on November 6.

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's   January 30, 2016 at 9:07pm

A lot of trees missing, but most of the fairway lines are the same. Mostly on holes 13-16. Luckily no baskets damaged, and only one teepad (#16) got cracked.

Chris Lozen   February 1, 2016 at 6:43am

That's good news. It's one of my favorite courses to play!

Open we are yet?

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's   September 18, 2015 at 1:30am

Not yet. Leelanau County is accepting bids for the project. It will open again, but it's still weeks away, and may not even open back up this year.

Do you know if they pulled the baskets out?

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's   September 6, 2015 at 9:24am

Baskets are still in, but holes 12-16 are extremely dangerous to play. Most of the tees and baskets back there are buried under huge fallen trees. Luckily no damage to pads or baskets, but real hard to even walk around.

Nick Pacific   September 6, 2015 at 5:34pm

Ok thanks for the heads up, bummer I will be up there next weekend and I won't be able to play it. Maybe I can get an invite to the private backyard course ha!

Thanks, Kyle. I'm not sure we can make some of those courses due to distance from Traverse City (suppose to meet back up with the wives for lunch or dinner), but I'm going to try and push us into that direction. A lot of those courses would be new to us. Hanson Hills has a tournament that weekend, but we've played it before (love that one too). I appreciate the assist! :)

Marc Hamlin - Team Tilley's    August 3, 2015 at 11:07pm

Myles Kimmerly disc golf course suffered a lot of damage from the huge storm that rolled through Northern Michigan last night. The course is CLOSED until further notice. Leelanau County officials need to assess the damage and make sure the park is safe to use. There are obviously more pressing needs going on out here at the moment, so it may take a while before the course reopens.

The concrete teepad installation project at Myles Kimmerly Park was a success! Thank you to everyone who came out and helped, and of course, Tilleys Party Store And Disc Golf, Northern Waters Disc Golf Series, and Grand Traverse Vapor, for all your amazing contributions.

The course will remain closed until Monday, June 8, to allow for the concrete to cure longer..

Forms are ready for crete. Thanks to everyone that helped so far. Maybe we should start a local disc golf club with like 30 or so members who could help do this MASSIVE amount of work. Oh well maybe next time we put concrete tees in at myles kimmerly we will be "more prepared".
