Not a ton of variety or consequences for shanked drives, but this is a great place for a quick practice round after work.

We had a great opening day. In regards to the request for cement tees and more trees on the back nine we are looking for donations. Trash cans should be in shortly. Please remember the course was a result of donations and installed by volunteers. Please respect the property and be mindful of players on other holes since the course is a little tight at times, as the designer I worked very hard to utilize all of the property and its features.

Like the other Howell course, I also would only play(practice) here if I lived very close. Mostly wide open field with back and forth layout. A couple of interesting holes, but mostly boring.

Should be a nine hole with multiple tee pads.
No safety zones as the holes go back and forth across an open field.

I played two times threw on this course which wasn't to bad a place for a round. The wind and cold weather made it more challenging. It has some elevations that make for some great holes. One water hole. This is what I would call a putter and midrange course.Thats the only way to maximize the challenge level of holes that are mostly under 300ft. Great for starters in the game and rec players. This course has a lot of potential but really need to look at extending some hole before pouring cement ...

First time playing the course today...
Good for new players and some good practice for the players who play more.
Not very busy, at least for today. was able to breeze through 3 rounds in a very quick amount of time.
Some baskets and tee locations a little close on a couple holes.
Holes 8 through 12, very wide open not a single tree to smash your disc into. Great for practicing them 200-300 straight as an arrow drives, with a little 155 footer thrown in at #11. Now then hole #13, looks good ...

Great course. New layout offers several fun holes from low ceilings, an island as well as a mando. This course has several easy birdies as well as some challenging holes to keep it interesting. Love the new layout

New layout is awesome. Great use of the land. All new cement tpads. Elevation is more prevalent than before. Some longer holes make it way more challenging. The island hole and mando keep it from being boring. Love it!!!

Great birdie course to practice fundamentals and make you feel good about yourself from the birdies.
Good for beginners as well

I love this course as a simple practice course to better my skills. It has just enough challenge and just enough distance to make this a fun course and one that I love introducing new people to the sport with.

Short course... fun accurate shots and great for a quick round

Great course for beginners. Most holes are straight runs with no obstacles. Nothing too difficult. Basically all holes are birdy holes. It's not too bad of a course for the experienced, either, as you can play to perfect form or throw some new discs around. Average hole length is around 240', only hole 1 is more than 300'.The back 9 can get somewhat confusing, but just follow the direction of the tee-pads.

Decent distance on some holes. Hole 11 easy birdie/Ace hole to build confedience. Hole 5-12 almost dead Straight in open field, not very technical. Hole 12 road hazard. Hole 1 and 18 over large valley. Hole 2 fenced in area hazard. Hole 3 Anhyser. Hole 4 and 17 have a dip to uphill. Hole 15 and 16 have minor tree hazard. Hole 13 Basket is in Trees. Hole 14 Tee off over ~80ft pond. No Cement Tee pads. Hole 6,7,8,9,10,11 Have benches for bags/seating. Large Seating area under gazebo by 14 tee/ 15 basket. Porta-potty by 16 tee.

They did the best they could with the land it's well done just a boring course is the problem, well done with what it is anyway.

this is a rather easy course. Great for beginners! Wide open with mostly short holes. Also for the good disc golfers a great place to go for aces.

tee pads are a bit worn. great quick course with lots of ace runs.

Front nine is pretty fun with elevation in play, back 9 are pretty boring with 3 holes in a row playing the exact same.

Smaller course, confidence booster for beginners and good practice for pros. Lack of cement pads is a real downfall

Not a terrible course. Good use of the land. Some possible issues with tee pad placement near baskets. Overall fun course.

The course is nicely marked and perfect for beginners. I play there 5 days a week and love every minute of it. The grass isn't maintained that well and half of it is weedy, ant hill terrain. Overall it's free and a lot of fun!

Shape your shot; most chain baskets are insight; it forgives beginners. The course can see the sunset and storms in distance miles away. It can be challenging if it's windy. It's a great location for glow disc golf.

New course layout provides an awesome new approach to this course. Started out playing this course as it was very open and easy. The new layout compliments the old and has several new holes... will be playing this more often now!

The new layout at Marion (Summer 2019) is a big step up from the previous course layout. They have added concrete tees and have changed the layout of almost every hole. Still a good course for beginners, as it is very flat and open, but it's more difficult than the old layout, and a lot more fun. If you haven't been in awhile I'd recommend checking it out again.

On the previous layout if you had a consistent 300ft straight/hyzer shot you could easily birdie every hole. The new 2019 layout brings some much needed variety (and tee pads!) to the course. I learned to play here so it's really nice to see Marion getting some love. A lot of work went into this and I'm REALLY digging all the changes. I'd personally like to see a donation box or something like they have at The Gultch to help keep up with course maintenance. They've added a lot of difficulty to t ...

It's aight. Variety of shots, but nothing special or scenic. Good pads and signage for navigation. Wouldn't go out of my way again for it, but worth a stop if you're in the area.

Back and forth was the name of the game. Challenging part about the course was the distance, other than that you just throw shots back and forth in a field.

I really enjoyed the course a lot could use concrete tees but still loved it either way
-1 votes Michael Block › June 18, 2011
Nice course. Could use a few more obstacles. Holes are on the shorter side near the middle of the back 9, and could use cement tees instead of just guessing on the grass.
-1 votes Chris Trumbull › February 8, 2021
no cement pads. front 9 is awesome, great elevation changes. back nine is back and forth through a field. windy day made it interesting.
-1 votes Jason Green › June 24, 2018
Grass had recently been cut when I played. Intentionally left some spots overgrown which I think is a nice touch, adding a very small layer of difficulty to the course. Everything else was in very good order.

great starter course there were a few great holes but most were back and forth in a field but there were long and short so it was fun alot of ace holes because it was open i really like this course would go back!
